  • More technically, the barn's immense mass cause positive Anti-de Sitter spacetime curvature locally. All light rays emitted from the barn are stretched as a result as they follow their world lines. In fact, barns further away are said to be expanding faster and faster. Some even speculate the expansion of the universe is increasing exponentially as a result of these barns. This is known as the Theory of Quantum Barn Gravity.

  • The best way to grow a community is to share the highest quality information possible. The reason I actually stopped being a lurker is because another Lemmy user told me this.

I want to see Lemmy and LocalLLaMA grow. If you can make the content here so good that others seek out our posts for information, then the community will naturally grow.

  • There was a response I left in the main comment thread but I'm not sure if you will get the notification. I wanted to post it again so you see it

Please feel free to ask any questions! Math is a wonderful field full of beauty but unfortunately almost all education systems fail to show this and instead makes it seem like raw robotic calculations instead of creativity.

Math is best learned visually and with context to more abstract terms. 3Blue1Brown is the best resource in my opinion for this!

Here's a mindblowing fact for you along with a video from 3Blue1Brown. Imagine you are sliding a 1,000,000 kg box and slamming it into a 1 kg box on an ice surface with no friction. The 1 kg box hits a wall and bounces back to hit the 1,000,000 kg box again.

The number of bounces that appear is the digits of Pi. Crazy right? Why would pi appear here? If you want to learn more here's a video from the best math teacher in the world.

  • Of course. I know some open source devs that advice backing up raw training data, LoRa, and essentially the original base models for fine tuning.

Politicians sent an open letter out in protest when Meta released their LLaMA 2. It is not unreasonable to assume they will intervene for the next one unless we speak out against this.
