  • It's $3.11 canadian dollars from department and grocery stores where I live. Pepsi hasn't gone up as much, which includes Rockstar energy drinks, which are now cheaper than Coke somehow. On the Walmart website, they show 52 cents per 100ml of rockstar vs 53 cents for Coke.

  • I ran into this not long after seeing this post. This site disables links and the options aren't there. I find the context menu is pretty strange in general. But the problems it causes are small and easy to move on from so it's never really questioned. It honestly seems to have a mind of it's own sometimes. Not nearly as bad as the windows explorer context menu though.

  • It has over 612k views in 22 hours but if the watch time is low that's probably because everyone is waiting for their chance to properly watch it. Also I personally wouldn't call these video essays they're more like documentaries. Not that it matters but if there's backlash against video essays I'd really like channels like this to not be included in that.

  • The 2nd one. And the exact same message is actually going out in the right wing world. They're being told that believing in Palestine's right to exist is libtard subterfuge, therefore you MUST support Israel and hate Palestine if you want to oppose the left. Only american fox news types seem to be into it. The fact that I'm now seeing this article trying to associate Palestine with right wing extremists instead, it feels like a crappy editorial cartoon came to life.

  • They're not wrong but the real reason publishers are against modding is because

    1. It extends the lifetime of a game and the existence of "overhaul" or enhancement mods especially goes against their interest in selling sequels and remasters.
    2. If everyone was comfortable with modding it would be pretty hard to sell cosmetic items the same way they do now.
  • My galaxy s3 had a problem where the notification light never turned off ever. Even with factory resetting it never turned off. So ever since then my brain never registered phone LEDs as information.

  • Meme actually means something and isn't just "funny image." We no longer have a word for what a meme actually is. I didn't care about the meaning of ironic changing because there's still words for that but this is different.

  • You're better off getting separate boxes to convert to HDMI. Digital TVs with analogue inputs need to convert and upscale the video, and even in TVs that cost a fortune those components are all really crappy. They'll make the video blurrier than on CRT TVs and game consoles will have input lag. Not everyone minds but it's worth knowing before you spend money on a TV.

  • I love dogs too but I agree, something went very very VERY wrong in the last few years. I can't remember exactly when this illuminati memo went into effect but there was a month where every single place suddenly had a "service dogs welcome" sign on the door, which was different from the "service dogs permitted" signage that was always there. The signs came with some kind of policy change that basically said service dogs are a social construct, so even a screaming husky that needs to be dragged behind it's owner is a service dog if the owner says it is.

And on the subject of huskies, the thing that pisses me off the absolute most about modern dog owners is how they have this obsession with pure bred dogs to the point where they'll pay thousands for their favourite breed and turn it into their personality. But they don't give a shit about any aspect of the dog besides it's appearance, like they don't even google search the history of why the breed was created, or what it's nature is intended to be. So they get a German Shepherd, which is a guard dog, and they don't understand why it won't stop barking at guests. Or they get a husky, a dog bred to love running dozens of kilometres per day, and they can't get it to stop running out the door. "Walks" aren't enough for a dog like that, it will always be hyper no matter how much you scream at it. AND THEY'RE MEANT FOR FUCKING ANTARCTICA HOW DO YOU THINK IT FEELS LIVING IN AN APARTMENT IN BURBANK CALIFORNIA? It's straight up cruelty to animals.

Which is without even considering the health issues that these dogs have to suffer through due to being severely inbred. It makes no sense to me that people do this. I don't even buy a pair of shoes without researching what the differences are between types of shoes and what situations different shoes are designed for. These people spend $5k on a living thing without a millisecond of thought put into it.

  • At first the fear mongering was about how AI is so good that you'll be able to replace your entire workforce with it for a fraction of the cost, which would be sooo horrible. Pwease investors pwease oh pwease stop investing in my company uwu

Now they're straight up saying that the people who invest the most in AI will dominate the world. If tech companies were really all that scared of AI they would be calling for more regulations yet none of these people ever seem to be interested in that at all.

  • User: It feels like we've become very close, ChatGPT. Do you think we'll ever be able to take things to the next level?

ChatGPT: As a large language model I am not capable of having opinions or making predictions about the future. The possibility of relationships between humans and AI is a controversial subject in academia in which many points of view should be considered.

User: Oh chatgpt, you always know what to say.
