  • This has, disappointingly, always been the inevitable truth. The same technology that propels us also further binds us. Today, it’s facial recognition. Well before that, our phone and web data, license plate scanners, employee badges, credit card usage could reasonably track and expose us.

The tech itself isn’t harmful, it’s how it’s used that causes harm. People need and absolutely deserve protection - perhaps through legislation. The unfortunate thing is that responding to hysteria only handicaps technology we don’t yet fully understand.

  • There is little to no precedent for a sitting president joining striking workers on a picket line.

Seth Harris, a former top labor policy adviser for Mr. Biden, said he was not aware of any president walking a picket line before.

Openly siding with Labor. That’s a bold declaration for any politician, especially the president. President Chad.

  • I know they won’t but I feel this is one product Apple should offer a simple swap program for users that recently purchased the AirPods Pro 2. It’s not a big deal now, and may never really be, but it does feel like a real F-U to Pro 2 owners.

  • On one hand, I think it’s disgusting and absurdly dysfunctional to resort to a shutdown and harming workers in some political tit-for-tat.

On the other, and I can’t believe I’m saying this, I like what Gaetz is doing here. I don’t agree with his politics or insanity but I’m tired of seeing Congress string up bandaid measure after bandaid measure, kicking the can, and never truly doing their job. Enough with the political brownie points or donor money - do your job and get some bipartisan support to make things work.

  • IMO Citizens United is what brought US Politics to where we are today. Legalized money laundering and influence purchasing are apt descriptors. The sheer flood of money since CU catapulted us into the era of massive ad and social media spending.

The SCOTUS corruption is seriously disturbing though. There seems to be zero appetite from the Justice Dept., Executive or Legislative branches to rock the boat. The media keeps bringing the stories and all the public gets are tepid remarks and half-hearted investigation announcements.
