  • I call myself a film nerd. I particularly enjoy movies with surrealistic or psychological elements. I prefer older movies or movies that depict older periods, such as the ~1880s-1980s. I had a fixation on the 20s-40s a while ago and discovered one of my favourite actors, Charles Boyer. Watched a bit of Ingrid Bergman, too. Currently, I am fixating on the 2018 show Das Boot (the first 2 seasons at least…).

I hold movies dear to my heart. I have ~250 movies on hold in my “watchlist,” and I seldom find the motivation to sit down and absorb new materials. However, once I do discover something I like, chances are I will incorporate it into my personality or daily life some way. I feel that movies encourage creativity within me, as I often take inspiration from movies / shows / characters when creating my own work (I write in my free time).

I have never met a person in real life who is just as passionate about this as I am. I don’t really have anybody to talk about movies with for hours, so I turn to the internet. Even then, it’s difficult to find such people, I think.

  • I will not address the sexual aspect, but the social aspect, I know I prefer my guys to be more “submissive.” That doesn’t mean I want them to be quiet and never take charge; it means I want to be the one to take the leading role, take them out for dinner, provide for them, and so on. I prefer guys who are more domestic, down to earth, more in tune with i.e. cooking (since I am not), but I would also like to take them out for shopping trips and feel good knowing I can buy this person a gift. No, this is not the norm; many people still follow and believe in the primitive gender roles as we know them. Some people who read this comment may not even believe me; how could a woman enjoy spoiling a man!? Unbelievable. But no, I genuinely do, and I wish there were more spaces for women like me with preferences like this.

  • Would you recommend the Intel or AMD version? I’m not very updated on what distinguishes the AMD.

  • i shan’t say it.

  • Thank you for the response, I appreciate it! I’m not sure I understand the paragraph about the keyboard, however; do you mind explaining how switching the format will affect it?

  • I am aware of that, I was just saying.

  • I will be studying cyber security and network infrastructure with some limited script programming. I understand it is far easier to use Windows if you study in engineering.

I am interested in Linux, but seeing as Microsoft is very closed-off (cannot use installed versions of Microsoft365), I am a bit unsure if I want to fully commit to it. I am absolutely willing to try running it and getting a feel of it, though.

What does the process look like when you install Windows on your own? Is it difficult / costly?

  • Can you elaborate? What computer would you use?

  • I will be studying cyber security where we will do some script programming (but no heavy programming at all), otherwise I use it to stream movies online and watch Youtube. That’s pretty much what I do with my current school-prescribed computer.

  • Thanks for this comment! Everybody on Reddit says to get Macbook instead of Framework, so it’s nice to have some differing opinions.

  • Not me, but my dad.

The only reason he stays is because of the politicians and news outlets he follows. He knows Twitter is trash now, but if that’s where the people he’s following are staying, then he stays too. He has heard of Mastodon and looked into it, but it’s unfortunate most politicians won’t migrate over there.
