I think they're calling bullshit on the 300 KIA in this single strike.

I also think CNN is headlining "vacuum bomb" because it makes it sound like some future tech wunderwaffe, and not the relatively standard use munition that fuel air bombs are.

However, a precise strike with a thermobaric bomb on a gathering of people, building, or a compound, is something that could easily cause 300 KIA - if their was that many people there to begin with.

It's not good practice to take any military at their word on their enemy KIA figures, but it wouldn't be shocking if this strike has a significant number of causalities, nor would it be shocking if Russia pulled it out of their ass.

Microsoft brings in significant revenue from selling it's products to end users, which means it's not a pyramid scheme.

Depends if this is already baked into the firmware the device shipped with and is just being pushed into user space with a software update, or if the update is also pushing out the firmware to add it.

If it's former, then yeah, probably SOL.

But if it's the latter, it might be possible to get avoid and even get Android 15 ROMS that strip out those parts.

Also, Twitter was never profitable, and it was likely never going to be profitable. But there's a big difference between their losses and projections before Musk, and after.

Software can detect the hardware it's being run on. I imagine that massive amounts of targeted clicks and views detected from x86, or emulated Android, would trigger fraud alerts.

Additionally, phones are cheap and use a lot less power then the x86 cluster required to replicate that many "individual" users/devices.

Using Wyze is a choice that has trade-offs and it's up to the user to understand what those are.

For example, if you aren't able, or willing, to selfhost an NVR, then accept that these situations may arise and decide which video feeds are ones you're willing to take that risk with.

Video feeds of your backyard, are significantly different then those of your bedroom, or living areas.
