  • That doesn't sound annoying at all lol

  • I'm so so looking forward to sync, and it gives me a lot of hope seeing all of these apps and fancy UI's, it's reassuring that the fediverse is here to stay and will continue to grow

  • Sadly this is the truth these days, opera certainly has had it moments in the sun in the past (especially on lower spec devices) but I would personally stare clear these days

Firefox is really the only true alternative

Small shout-out to edge browser's built in pdf editing functions though, this is really handy on PC at times

  • That's disappointing, Lemmy is fantastic but I guess I understand it's hard to break up with what's familiar

  • I now have a folder on my home screen filled with decentralized social media networks

  • Nice and sunny in Auckland today, actually got some washing out to dry, son is getting picked up soon which might mean a bit of peace and solitude depending on the wife lol

  • I like Rush coffee if it's available or hummingbird if I need something from the supermarket both have nice full flavours and aromas

  • While other apps offer a nice interface I find the jerboa app by far the best app for actually posting and commenting /actually interacting

This is important because I find that interacting with communities is actually a much better way to get meaningful engagement of Lemmy than it was with Reddit (I.e: lurking)

  • Thank you for your response! Certainly gave me a good understanding

I think I'll stick with Lemmy

  • Very interesting, it sounds like they each have pros and cons, it also sounds a bit like mIRC without the C

I must admit, it's MUCH easier to sign-up and start using it (even if you don't know what it's doing)

  • Was a bit crisp, fresh though, nice. We have teams of guys including tractors, weed Wackers and everything in between.. we're here for the whole day today (Long Bay)

  • Having a cracker of a morning but I think the weather is rolling in, would love to check out a FIFA game but it's a bit last minute

  • That's pretty gnarly mate, if there's anything I can contribute let me know, I'm really enjoying this Lemmy stuff and I think it's amazing that we have this little digital community

  • Mate I think I know the answer already but do you host lemmy.nz yourself?

  • Oh it's not mine, I mow grass for the council and I just saw this yesterday and thought it was interesting that it's out this early

  • Yeah good mate, hope y'all are doing well

  • We did get lucky in some aspects, kiwibank would only lend us $400,000 so that was a no go but we went with an even smaller bank lender and both the guy we dealt with and the lender are very good to us (nzhl)

That's probably way too much information to be vomiting out online lol
