  • i’m not refusing, i promise. i won’t reject optimism—i am, however, going to constantly remind people how difficult this is going to be because not even half of Americans understand the basics of fascism. we are in deep and the legal routes are gone. i want the stark reality to be felt and understood.

  • i hear ya.. i do. i am unfortunately personally unable to do the deed.

  • absolutely raise hell. nobody should be quiet in the face of tyranny. however, i believe democracy in the US has been dead for quite some time.

  • sure, but may i point out you are telling me to "not go ham on the pessimism" during modern American fascism spearheaded by a would-be dictator who has a hardon for deporting legal brown citizens and SCOTUS is fine with it

  • right on track for the extinction timeline of 2027

  • sure, until his momentum hits a very large, orange, fascist wall. let's hope that doesn't happen.

  • can i resist the AI?

none of us can. we don't control the world.

  • oh we know why, it’s not a mystery to anyone who talks to the average american worker. we are criminally underpaid for our labor and it gets worse the younger the generation is. millennials are more poor than their parents’ generation, and gen z will likely end up poorer than millennials.

  • the bad news: there is no inherent meaning. the good news: this means you get to create your own. each of us do! the harsh reality is we exist against our will. nobody chose to be here and the "purpose" appears purposeless. if you ask me, there is no such thing as destiny and there is no afterlife for a soul to ascend to, so the existence you are experiencing here on Earth is profoundly unique and should be treated as your one and only. you might spend your entire life searching for a grand meaning, but the saerch is part of the discovery, because along the way you are progressing as a person, and aging and maturing through life, so you're not remaining stagnant and unchanging. it's okay if you never truly "know" who you are or where you're going--just keep doing it. you'll end up somewhere, you'll become someone.

  • Native-born Americans never have to worry about losing their citizenship, no matter what they do.

that is far too confident a statement

  • they never will lol. everyone is afraid of the legalities involved and aren't willing to risk lawsuits for your correct call for violent action. nobody is willing to support a movement of revolutionaries because it is bad optics. violence is unpopular even though it gets results.

  • yes, but i am also becoming more tolerant of personal quirks as i’ve learned of my autism and how it impacts my socializing. i worry nobody likes me and tend to avoid conversation. i want friends. i have some, but more would be nice. something genuine and deep but equally as stupid and silly and shallow.

  • a lot of people value celebrities for reasons i struggle to understand. i posted this thinking about those folks. there's a lot of them out there who don't realize many of these stars are fascists.

your favorite celebrity would've supported Hitler

  • there is zero reason for anyone to believe Epstein killed himself even if we are given direct evidence from the state itself. everything from them is suspect and should not be trusted regardless of the quality provided. why would anyone listen to the words of a government that inherently distrusts its citizens and wants, objectively, the worst for them? even if Epstein actually did kill himself we are never going to accept that as a society and honestly, we shouldn't, because this is absolutely something those in power would do and we should never forget that or become complacent to it.

  • very true. i am using "earn" here as a synonym for merely obtaining. it should be read as thieve, as in "they'll thieve less money."
