Perhaps not exactly what your looking for, but there is an indie puzzle game based off picross 3d (one of my all time favorite puzzle games) that uses voxel styling

An article that discusses and re-examines if a game you like is good is not a personal attack.

I encourage anyone who thinks it is indeed a good game (hey I also enjoyed it back in the day) take the time to read the article and at least respond to the content posted.

It is absolutely fine to disagree with what the article is saying. And it's fine if you don't want to read it. But I don't think it's bee-ing nice to comment that you refused to read an innocent article because you disagree with the headline and it's source. The article was posted to discuss its contents (as the body of the post pointed out). Not whether or not polygon is worthwhile.

If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all ya know?

Have yet to get to the final boss... But yesterday I did Commander Gaius. That was the first time in the dlc I had no fun. That guy has some of the worst hitboxes I've ever seen and beating him was an absolute chore. I was on the "DLC isn't too hard" train, and still kinda am... But he was the first time I was like, "ok I see what some people are saying"

I typically don't keep the nividia or windows gaming stuff turned on. Having it built into steam will be nice, since I use their overlay a lot more. Plus steam deck support is really nice!

Well I suppose the issue is that not everyone sees the obscureness as a problem. I love the Myst games and quern, but I think it would be a bad idea to change the puzzles to be different. The Myst series is quite difficult to be sure, but that's part of why I love them. I don't think everyone needs a guide to finish, but if one does every now and then, is that really such a bad thing? For single player, whatever method of playing that gives you the most enjoyment is the correct way to play

There's a good mod on the steam workshop that adds a tutorial NPC, I highly recommend it! It's one of the top rated mods

I have fond memories of a game called dino defender. I played it when I was like 5 years old so the game might be bad but maybe not!

Another game from that era that seemed cool but I could never get to work on my computer was scan command. It came with this barcode scanner you could use to scan various barcodes, which would give you pieces to build your own dinosaur fighter thing. Seemed cool, and I scanned the heck out of barcodes ... But never got to see the fruits of my labor 😔

Sick! I tried the beta for this out and was very impressed. Game has been great for a while but the controller support for me is pushing it even higher

There's really not a ton you need to know going into riven story wise. I'll keep it vague if you care about spoilers but it takes place right after the first game is done and it's basically a brand new mission a character sends you on, and he explains it at the beginning. Puzzle/ gameplay wise however I would definitely recommend playing Myst first. Riven is quite a bit more difficult/ obtuse than Myst, and can be frustrating if you don't know what you're getting into. Myst is a better starting point imo
