  • Can confirm. Had my mammogram last month and they recommended an ultrasound because my breast tissue is dense. I've had it once before with no problems, but my husband's company switched insurance providers and it kicked in January 1, so now the lab where I normally go isn't in-network and every lab that is in their network wants to charge me hundreds of dollars. This is with good insurance. (My husband always picks the most expensive insurance package because we're getting older.)

Money is a little tight right now because I'm in between jobs, so at this point I've given up. I'll look into it again when I'm employed again but it's just not affordable at the moment.

  • Some 20 years ago, the right shift key on my keyboard was busted. I ignored it for so long that I got used to only using the left shift key. To this day, and many keyboards later, that's still how I type.

  • Seems like there should be a law that requires at least 51% of one's body to be present, one of which must be the head in its entirety, before they could be considered fit for arrest.

  • So funny how some people still don't know how to use the seashells.

  • Garlic and onions are the basis for so many things that we cook at my house. I can't imagine not having them in my diet.

  • I can hear this in Antonio Banderas' voice and accent, and it's perfect.

  • Glad to hear it! Take it easy, and have a fabulous pain-free weekend.

  • I completely agree. As my husband and I get older and think about where to retire, one of the criteria we consider is whether or not the place has "death with dignity" laws. Some states already have it but they're a small minority.

  • left over bacon

    ???

    Lol

Honestly the only bacon-y leftover thing we ever have is bacon fat, and it's great for sprucing up all kinds of things, as I'm sure you know. My favorite lately is to saute sandwich meats in it before assembling my sandwich, then I pan-sear both sides of the sandwich before eating.

  • It's the same in our household. For my husband, it's usually when all I've got going so far are garlic and onions in the pan.

  • I've had to say goodbye to 2 beloved senior pets and this is what my vet suggested to me. He said list the 5 things that your pet loves to do the most, those activities that bring him the most joy. When he can no longer do 3 of the 5 things, then maybe start thinking about letting go.

I wish you and your pet all the best as you face these tough choices.

  • I hate the two-party system so much.

  • Two weeks ago at work during my break. I ate an apple that I had brought but wanted something salty, so I bought a bag of Sun Chips. Usually I'll buy a bigger bag of chips at the grocery store and keep it in my work locker, but I didn't have any that day.

  • Maybe they've got really big feet. And you know what they say about really big feet...

  • One-time payments. Those were the days.

There's this game called Futoshiki that I paid for once and I played every night before bed. I would play it with a dim screen until I fell asleep. Worked fine for probably close to a decade but recently started showing ads again. The email address for the developer is no longer valid. All other games like it that I found were subscription-based.

  • My friend and I decided to learn how to swing dance. We lived kinda far from each other so he chose a dance studio that was more or less in the middle. That dance studio is where I met my husband. We've been together 23 years. Still dancing too. :)
