  • Still works as far as I can tell.

  • Or the plants to die. Large shrubs can be expensive to replace.

  • Video games, hiking, running, gardening, puzzles by myself, and board games when I can find a group to play with.

  • I looked up "coal garden" and it unlocked a memory from my childhood. I think my older sister had a science experiment type of toy that grew crystals like that.

  • Whoa, I didn't expect coal to look so pretty!

  • Haha, glad I could help. I love these little things.

  • My local Greek place does this and I always assumed it was an Americanized gyro. They're super tasty and we love eating there. Interesting to know it's actually done in Greece too.

  • The Monkey's Paw: The Bat's Penis

  • We're low-tech and just use a rolled-up towel on the floor. We use it to soundproof the closed door at night (otherwise the cat whining wakes us up at 430am), and curl it around the open door to keep it from swinging.

  • I also prefer paper but I've been doing audiobooks lately because I can still do chores, garden, or exercise while "reading."

I'm also picky about narrators. There are audiobooks I really want to listen to but just can't enjoy them because the narrator sucks. That said, if you're into sci-fi, I highly recommend The Expanse audiobooks and novellas narrated by Jefferson Mays.

  • It's hard for me to imagine one and you have four. 😅

  • It's like dominoes but each tile has 6 sides and instead of pips you try to match terrain features like water, houses, trees, etc. So as you play, you end up building a map that keeps growing. There are little quests to complete too. My map currently contains 14,234 tiles.

I enjoy playing it because I can listen to podcasts while doing so, which I can't do with my other "currently playing" game, Horizon Zero Dawn.

  • I used to work on weekends so Friday had lost its luster. But I'm at a different job now and all my weekends are off again, so yes, I love Fridays. Even if sometimes I have homework or projects to work on since I've gone back to school (I'm in my 40s), I still look forward to having a couple of days to sleep in and mostly do nothing.

  • I love snuggles and movies with my husband. If you guys enjoy dark, violent, and mysterious, we watched Black Death on a whim tonight and enjoyed it a lot. The movie really surprised both of us.
