  • The funny thing is I'm in IT. The amount of tabs I have open is usually due to solving issues, opening multiple tabs of info to research without losing place. Just I often tend to forget to close some when done, or I get interrupted by either other work, questions (I'm an escalation point so helping my coworkers is also part of my job), or straight up ADHD. I used to keep tabs open to track manga/manhwa I'm interested or reading, but I use an app for that now and close apps way more often now.

I still might get a bunch open when trying to figure out game stuff or making choices for either shopping or D&D/Pathfinder or just something I need to look up, but the manga/manhwa was really the one that kept stuff open for days at a time.

  • Honestly my knowledge of ranked choice voting is that it works better for reps other than the president, and that our basically one guy wins it all form for presidential elections feels like ranked choice would work less. I'm willing to be wrong. I'm not sure if I actually like systems where the majority party picks the head of state, but it does feel like ra ked choice voting makes it matter more there.

  • My desktop is empty because I don't use it. I hide all icons as well so the system ones don't show either. As for my tabs... why don't we talk about something else, and not why I got 64gb of ram so I could open more tabs.

  • I was just making a reference to the fact that Bi people are sometimes erased or not recognized in some lgbt+ communities, which often is problematic for them, as both their straight and gay/lesbian relationships are sometimes plagued by their partners/potential partners distrust, among other things.

  • I've always been more worried of the Empire did nothing wrong facet of the Fandom, but I guess there's people who think they're rebellion too. Despite the fact that the rebellion is the one with multiple races...

Still, there is an odd commonality of right wing propaganda types using fictional movies, shows, and books as if they are reality.

  • He's been on this tip for a long while, supporting Ron Paul and being anti-vax. Last Week Tonight did an episode on Vaccines, and he shows up in a no longer valid comparison of RFK Jr on the left, Alex Jones wherever he fits in, and even this guy. I remember him also calling for Ron Paul 2012, but doesn't seem to be from this one, so hopefully I'm remembering that right.

Still, he's been libertarian and antivax for a long time, and those communities have been heavily aimed at by fascists for recruitment.

  • Arms manufacturer. In fact, a previous CIO told us he moved to the fashion company I worked at at the time because he was in a presentation where all the members seemed to be almost orgasmic over seeing the new weapons they were developing. Just his story about it so perhaps exaggerated but...

  • ? Meaning of life is absolutely not what I heard about growing up. Mostly Holy Grail. Once I joined reddit years back I saw life of Brian stuff. I'm not sure I heard of Meaning of Life before you just mentioned it. I actually assumed you meant life of Brian until I googled it. I'm also in IT, and have been since '99.

  • I know this is a meme, but I always considered Yoda as winning the fight, but without enough left to fight off any reinforcements, being thus unable to finish the job. Winning the battle but losing the war, etc.
