  • Just go read Project 2025.

A Trump win, is the end of democracy, and that 900-page document gives the full blueprint on how to kill American Democracy.

As a note here, the idea of just replacing most of the federal government with political appointees is actually quite new.

There used to be lists for appointees, Judges being the main push, but now that the Federalist Society controls the judiciary, the protections are gone, and another Trump presidency would be the end.

  • Sort of.

The Permeant Apportionment Act of 1929 has reared it's head again to fuck us. See, before that little bit of legislation, the size of congress and thus the size of the electoral college, were closer in line with the actual population, making it much harder to win via the electoral college and yet not the popular vote.

  • So you claim the public doesn't count gang members as people. Or gang victims, because gang related shootings don't always result in just gang members being injured, quite often innocent people are caught up in it.

But rather than being a racist jackass, let's just accept the given definition of a mass shooting, Four or more people injured, not counting the gunman.

See how simple that definition is? And no need to let racist bias pretend that some people aren't people just because a gang member was somewhere near the shooting.

Four or more people injured or killed, not including the gunman. That's a mass shooting, and we had over 600 of them last year,

Then you pretend that some gangs are worse than others. No, they're just better armed.

And the old "we have too many guns to implement gun control" bullshit. The vast majority of mass shootings are done with new guns, so simply stop selling new guns (and throw the CEOs of the gun companies in jail, but that's not for their reckless disregard for human life, all CEOs of major corporations should do a few years in jail)

Also, you're ignoring things like Australia, where they had more guns than people, and after a mass shooting, they said fuck this, and did a huge gun buyback coupled with actual gun control. Now Australia doesn't have mass shootings. Amazing how that works.

  • I'm saying that Trump will pare down the military until the only people left are supporters, which will be a disturbingly high number of people, including officers.

They won't all quit to join his new paramilitary group, he'll turn the military itself into his own paramilitary group. Starting with purges, and then promotions for lackies.

  • Trump was convicted of 34 felony counts. He disobeyed the Judge and was held in contempt multiple times.

Trump is going to jail because he's earned it.

But also to get him away from a microphone. Trump needs that microphone to be effective. Better to lock him away than let him build support for more election denial.

  • Are you saying that a gang shooting isn't a mass shooting? Why? Are they not people?

In countries with sensible gun laws, the gangs don't have guns.

The gangs still exist, because we're humans, but they don't have easy guns and thus, there are no mass shootings,

  • It would be instantly appealed to the Supreme Court, who are in Trump's pocket. They would then have an excuse to just throw out the convictions.

But a delayed sentencing... well. that keeps the ball in Judge Merchan's court. Trump can't really appeal until after the sentencing. So Trump is still a felon. And will be until November 26th.

At that point it will be clear who has won the election, even if Trump still has some sort of game he wants to play, Trump is playing from a position of weakness, because he's not the president.

Anyway. Once Trump loses, because it's becoming clear he will lose, Judge Merchan will have that felony conviction and every incentive to get Trump away from the microphone. Trump has broken the contempt order half a dozen times already. So there's even a valid reason to lock Trump's ass up for a few years.

  • While there are likely quite a number of people in the service who would put the constitution first, there's also a disturbing number of Trump supporters, up and down the ranks,

The Air Force is particularly infested due to a somewhat sleazy church that Cadets at the Academy are sort of forced to go to.

    https://religionnews.com/2012/07/12/debate-reignites-over-religion-at-air-force-academy/

That sort of shit has been going on long enough that you have officers in pretty high position who are Christian Dominionists, or these days called Cristian Nationalists. People who want to tear down the constitution and replace it with the Bible.

Still, he won't have the full support. But he'll have a lot. Especially with local police stations and such.

Which is where things like the Florida State Guard come in.

The Heritage Foundation is already building out lists of loyalists and where they're going to work if Trump wins. So yeah, it won't be instant, but it will be pretty fast.

  • I can understand alJudge Merchan's reasoning. I don't like it, but I can understand.

Sentencing Trump before the election risks the sentence being thrown out, even if Trump loses.

Moving it to after the election means Trump has fewer options to get out of it, provided he loses.

If Trump somehow wins, well, we're all fucked so the sentence doesn't matter.

As a note, Trump will be in prison after November 26th, so cannot organize or lead another attack on our nation. His supporters might try shit, but he'll be a two time loser. Very few of his supporters will stick with him. The sort of people who should likely be in prison themselves.

  • No gun crime, that can be said quite easily. Or at least the numbers of shootings are small enough that they make international news when they happen.

And also, the cops in those countries tend not to shoot people or pets. Like ever. Cases where an officer is forced to discharge their weapon are also international news stories.

But here in the states, we wouldn't know any of that, because here there are two or three mass shootings per day.

Just let that dichotomy sink in a bit.

  • A person who can and will be replaced.

That's actually how it will go for pretty much everyone down the chain of command. Obey Trump or be replaced by those who will, except the traitorous fucks are already drawing up lists of people they know will obey, and by extension, those they know will not.

Look into Schedule F of project 2025. It's a plan to replace the entire government with loyalists. And that includes the commanders of the military.

  • You want your voice heard? Then actually speak up. Call your Representative. Their phone numbers are public. Write letters, send emails.

    Be engaged.

Or throw your vote away. See, the two major parties don't give a shit about what third party platforms are. Well, Republicans sure as hell don't. And since the election is projected to be depressingly close, throwing your vote away on third parties will actively hurt you and your interests. And telling other people to abandon Harris for some rando third party who only runs a candidate once every 4 years, is equivalent to directly supporting Trump.

  • For some fucked up reason, this election is close enough to make every vote matter. So, yes, pulling support from Harris is mathematically indistinguishable from supporting Trump.

Also, I always look down on idiots who think they can accomplish anything by separating themselves from the system. No, we work to fix it from within, or we don't get to fix it at all.

  • They do indeed have honest judges. Fulton County is pretty much just Atlanta, and like any other city, is very blue.

There are also somewhat honest Federal Judges in Georgia, but that's a bit more hit or miss, seeing as how McConnell fucked up the judiciary with holding judges and then speed stacking as he did.

  • But you're publicly advocating for others to drop their support of Harris in favor of a third party.

Which is mathematically identical to telling people to vote for Trump. So I name thee a Trump supporter, because that's the only person who benefits from your actions.

  • Yup, the US was founded on high ideals and blatant hypocrisy.

We're doing better than when we started, but there's a lot of room to grow.

And I can say that is true for pretty much every country on Earth. Humanity in general can do better, but to actually put that into practice needs a highly educated population who are actively engaged with government. And to get there will require some structural changes to the government itself.

Changes like abandoning Ordinal Voting Systems in favor of Cardinal voting systems. And expanding the size of the government massively.

As much as I hate the corpo Dems, the Progressives might just be the key to moving forward. The Regressives of the Republican Party are right out, a complete step backward. And due to Plurality, those are our choices.

So yeah, we work with the system we have, until we can change it into something better.
