  • In this specific case, Apple axed the show because Stewart was going to talk about China's less savory behavior.

The show had been announced to have a third season, and then suddenly when Stewart was gearing up to tackle some of the issues around China, Stewart was instantly fired.

And this isn't the first time China had demanded the firing, or public apology, of a prominent American who is even slightly critical of their government.

  • So what happens when two distant cousins try to steal the same land?

I'm betting there are court cases about it... Now I'm imagining a sadistic version of Judge Judy where two entitled pricks argue about who gets to steal a person's entire life out from under them.

I'd watch it, but only if it was actually some sort of prank show where the two jackasses didn't know they were testifying against themselves in a criminal proceeding.

  • He did a wonderful job on Lost... Well, the early set-up for Lost.

See, JJ is phenomenal at building up mystery boxes. He's just shit at putting anything inside those boxes.

He can lay out questions and hints at world building like no other. He just never goes back and does any of that world building.

  • I'm a fan of Shortest Split-Line.

What you do is take a population map of the state and draw the shortest line possible to separate the population into two equal halves. Then you subdivide those halves with the shortest line to make equal population quarters.

Keep this up until you have all your districts.

There's a little math trick to get equal populations for odd numbered districts.

Now, some people hate this method because it can break up historic neighborhoods and such. I don't care because it ends gerrymandering completely. It's 100% party neutral.

Also, the generated maps are often better than you'd think.

  • The bathroom thing was just so stupid.

It contradicts the lore of the books.

The entrance to the Chamber of Secrets was literally built in a bathroom. She could have just said it was a Roman style bathroom that was later retrofitted to be modern.

And Dumbledore let's Harry know about the Room of Requirements by telling a story about how he once needed a chamberpot. A magic chamberpot? Sure. Makes more sense than shitting himself.

  • Sentencing often comes with a Sentencing Investigation.

The Judge looks at past criminal records, evidence from the trial, motions from defense attorneys and prosecution and such. It all takes time.

The crypto bro is currently in jail awaiting the sentencing (and second trial with more charges against him) so it's not like he's walking around free.

  • Hamas depends on Israel for their existence. Just as much as the Zionists depend on the threat of Hamas to maintain their own power.

Hell, Netanyahu has been somewhat openly propping up Hamas for years now. All to justify the ethnic cleansing of the West Bank.

All these shitbags pushing their own agenda at the expense of the Palestinian people.

  • It will hurt the user more, yes.

    It's a bad weapon design.

The guy who designed it for Worf in TNG, was inspired by a Chinese single-handed weapon. That weapon was not widely used because it wasn't actually that good.

Still, the deer horn knives are theoretically a sound choice for a weapon, provided your goal is to disable the opponents while likely getting skewered from range.

The Bat'leth is just a useless hunk of metal.

It was designed to be showy and look interesting on camera, not as a practical weapon, and it really does fail as a practical weapon.

  • Here's a point that is not at all relevant to the purposeful annihilation of Gaza, but "smart" munitions, are still far less accurate than military cheerleaders let on.

Those "thread a needle" bombs are great when they work, but often don't.

I mean, 90% of the time you can still hit the right building with one, but the correct window? Maybe.

See, the issue is, these are single use devices, built by the lowest bidder. They require high precision in their manufacture, and then need fairly good weather conditions and a well painted target. Otherwise, they miss. Usually, that miss is "Close enough", i.e. the blast of the exploding munition will still take out the target (and maybe something nearby that you didn't want to hit) Sometimes that target is mostly fine and a building a block over is the one you hit.

All of this is when the intel is actually good. Usually it's not. "Smart" bombs can only ever be as smart as the people firing them.

The caveat here is drones. Drones have the option to linger in the air before approaching a target, so they generally only hit targets that are selected. Which then goes back to the issue of intelligence, and the stunning lack thereof in most military engagements.
