  • They are talking about replacing TV and movie writers, nurses and doctors for initial medical diagnosis, programmers for application development, paralegals for research, etc.

They will get rid of all human employees and drive their companies into the ground before they realize ML is supposed to supplement jobs, not take them over completely.

  • If I have to choose between this issue and data loss

But why do we have to choose in the first place? There's absolutely zero technical reasons not to have a model with more storage. No financial reason either, since a lot of people will buy that model only because of a bigger number on the box. The only reason is to purposefully hurt the customer in order to push us to buy their cloud storage, because it's a steady revenue stream instead of a one-time purchase.

  • Cloud services offers backup for such data, so large storage is not needed.

One does not negate the other! I self-host my own photo and document backup service, but that's not a replacement for actual on-device storage. Just try pulling up a "backed-up" picture when you have slow connection or no Internet at all.

  • My main gaming PC is also my video editing machine, so it has plenty of storage - 1TB SATA SSD boot drive, two 2TB m.2 NVMe SSDs, and a 4TB PCIe NVMe SSD. The free space is very fluid, depending on the project I'm working on at any given time.

  • Exactly. It's also a "jerks on power trips" scheme for the police. A ticket for going 53 in a 50 zone will be dismissed by any judge, but the cops know you probably don't have the time to waste taking them to court over $100.

I'm terms of other impatient drivers, that's why you have a middle finger on each hand.
