  • Holy fuck, please shut up Hillary, you are not helping. You are an electoral poison. You are to polling numbers and engagement as Rob Schneider is to Rotten Tomatoes scores. Please, if you want to help, just go gentle into that good night.

  • Its a holdover from the time before liquor started being sold in metric quantities. It's not consistent at all, a pint is 375ml, a half pint is 200ml. A 5th, for fifth of a gallon, is 750ml. The names are used because they visually resemble the old containers. They are slowly falling out of use, but replacement terms haven't really stuck and just stating the ml doesn't have the same charm.

Worth noting this just applies to booze. A pint of milk here means a US pint of milk (~473ml). Same goes for beer

  • MRIs don't use radiation, they're based on magnetism.

Provided they don't use contrast or sedation, and you don't have any metal in you its incredibly safe.

I think the biggest risk is hearing damage from the noise of the motor

  • I often forget that I can just do that. Like sit in a room and listen to music and not do anything else. I feel like I have to constantly be doing something, even if its just reading.

When I first check out, it's just... refreshing. Trying to do it more.

Also, what's the name of that book? Seems like an interesting read

  • I went to a well funded school in New England, this was period correct even as late as 2013. For VHS especially these carts were still in use, but starting in maybe 2007/2008 some teachers would use their computer + VGA projector setup for DVDs. Especially since there weren't enough carts to go around

  • There was literally an interview with Bill Gates published yesterday where he was saying he was optimistic since Trump appeared to be listening when he discussed the global AIDS pandemic over dinner.

So much for that I guess.

  • Rare was basically a second party developer back in those days. They were given access to internal tools from Nintendo, a direct hotline for help, hell they even developed Nintendo IPs, which was unheard of for a western developer and is still rare even today
