  • lead pipes, leaded gasoline, lead paint, lead sweetener …

    • yes, that’s poisonous
    • yes, we have food safety standards
    • that can be completely ignored if you have the money
    • and yes, RFK Jr. will do the best he can to reduce our standards even further
    • to give you an idea of how much of a joke it is, the US label for “safe” is GRAS “generally recognized as safe”
  • when you have a nice long break and a list of household chores you’ve been meaning to get to and New Years Day arrives and you realize you haven’t touched a single thing on the list

  • just a little more money and that conservative will surely switch sides … anytime now …

  • cook with it? yeah
    call it pizza? nope

    • VERY much personal preference
    • and there are way too many options available for MX switches
      • linear, tactile, clicky, silent, pre-lubed, long pole, strong tactile, weak tactile, click jacket, clickbar, clickleaf, light springs, medium springs, heavy springs, short springs, long springs, 3 stage springs
    • Akko Silver has a light spring (45g) – so really easy to bottom out, simplest might be test with a heavier spring
      • medium-light – Akko Piano (55g)
      • medium – Akko Matcha Green (63g)
    • if it’s just a matter of bottoming out
      • O-ring mod – add a small O-ring around the stem of the keycap, softens bottom out on existing switches
      • silent switches (ex. Akko Fairy) – internal dampers not only silence the clack but soften the blow
    • ergo mech users !ergomechkeyboards@lemmy.world generally go for light springs but they also tend to hover their fingers rather than resting their fingers as well as optimizing layouts and keymaps to reduce finger travel which is a whole new discipline
  • would probably be funnier if we hadn’t already lived through decades of Q and tea party and Covid and anti-vaxxer and anti-flouride and flat earther and birther – artist is trying to parody right-wing idiocy but we’ve already seen far stupider stuff in real life

  • one video talking about Paul Watson: “wanted for the crime of being a fucking legend”

  • Chinese “hackers” walking through wide open backdoors installed by our very own intelligence agencies …

  • (estimated) 52M membership × 32% denial rate = baseline 16M suspects

  • somehow, they will definitely have a loophole for private jets …

  • flip the question around: Why would you think this wasn’t a scam?

  • last I remember, the CIA supported faction was fighting the DoD supported faction …

  • (considering what’s left behind on Xitter, that’s probably a good thing)

    • “Fluorescent lights in grocery store too bright, causing a downward spiral into existential dread.”
    • Fluorescent lights too dim to “save energy” making everything creepier, causing increased nervousness
  • maybe getting attacked by a bald eagle needs to happen more often

  • “We’ve tried nothing and they still won’t talk to us!”
