  • additionally Brodie Robertson did a video about Malibal banning countries back in October: Youtube, PeerTube

with one post, Malibal turned itself into a joke

    • keyboard: IBM Model M
    • mouse: Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer
    • but corporate policy is to let IT handle updates
    • but Windows doesn’t like being ignored so it bypasses group policy and auto-updates
  • original generation of COBOL programmers where expecting their programs to be replaced (or at least rewritten) within a decade or so – and then Y2K and we realized how much COBOL was still in the wild – and now a couple decades down the line, they’re still having problems trying to convince fintech to switch from COBOL to the new language of Java …

  • client was completely ignored

  • “Which is more American? Toyotas built in the US? Or Fords built in Mexico?”

  • (out of the aid USAID sent overseas, $2 billion annually was crops purchased from American farmers …)

  • proven multiple times and confirmed by multiple studies: communities that welcome immigrants have higher education rates, better incomes, higher productivity, and lower crime than communities based on exclusion/exclusivity/isolation/separation

  • are you using Quad9 DNS?

(Catbox and Quad9 have an ongoing squabble – usually it’s just a matter of waiting for a day for things to clear up)

  • oil companies regularly blowing their load all over the Gulf

  • long haul flights before they banned smoking on planes …

  • “But”, interjected van Paasen, “You will be sitting on a pile of ruins.”

“We have always lived in slums and holes in the wall. We will know how to accommodate ourselves for a time. For, you must not forget, we can also build. It is we the workers who built these palaces and cities here in Spain and in America and everywhere. We, the workers, can build others to take their place. And better ones! We are not in the least afraid of ruins. We are going to inherit the earth; there is not the slightest doubt about that. The bourgeoisie may blast and burn its own world before it finally leaves the stage of history. We are not afraid of ruins. We who ploughed the prairies and built the cities can build again, only better next time. We carry a new world, here in our hearts. The world is growing this minute.”
