  • another vote for Lua – lua5.4 is available for all 8 Alpine architectures, tiny installed size (120–200 kB) (and Alpine package only installs two files)

  • in the US, thoughts of data privacy are pure fantasy

  • Input if you want something a little wider

  • take a look at Monaspace Argon as an alternate

  • some RSS readers allow you to run filters on specific feeds BUT if those feeds are happily padding out their off-season, chances are they’re keeping it generic enough there’s nothing to filter against :(

    • (I will be so happy when transporters get invented)
    • as others have mentioned, outside of an actual medical condition, best you can hope for is mitigation
    • compression socks, neck pillow, eye mask, noise cancelling headphones
    • stay hydrated – one of the big drivers behind jet lag is plain old dehydration
    • aisle seat – you can get up, walk around a bit, hit up the bathroom, all without having to climb over your neighbors every single time
  • and not Zilla Slab (which even had an opentype feature to replace “Mozilla” with “Moz://a”)

    • single family dwellings – maximum of two
    • multi-family dwellings – landlord is required to live in the same building as tenants
  • doesn’t help when you have “Arch BTW” types that like the mystique that myth gives them

  • Why? Why not?

Currently running Debian Stable, but in the process of switching over to Alpine (yes, Alpine on the desktop). The lightweight, stripped-down feel calls to me and I like the little BSD-isms thrown in. musl might present problems down the road, but a lot can be bypassed by using flatpaks. Also using the change as incentive to try out Wayland and LabWC (bringing back that Openbox goodness). Kinda enjoying the process of piecing stuff together rather than trying to pare it down afterwards.

  • pile on layers of cultural norms – some cultures place a priority on punctuality, and some cultures it’s downright rude to arrive at the time stated – and then there’s the US where workers are required to be on time but bosses don’t even need to show up

  • remember when employers actually paid a living wage and didn’t exploit their employees? … oh, wait …
