  • After the last election, I have zero faith in the American public's ability to learn any lesson. We've got a whole propaganda ecosystem dedicated to keeping that from happening. The lessons will have to get more painful than covid was.

  • From what I hear from the government employees I know, if they had bothered to clear the legal hurdles before sending out the offer, a lot more people would be taking them up on it. But they'd only do that if they were competent, and at that point we're diverging so far from reality it seems pointless to speculate.

  • Maybe this is the inevitable endgame of a society that tries to harness greed the way capitalism does. Something can be working completely sustainably and for the general good, like NOAA does, and they still try to take parts of it away just so they can extract profits by selling to you what used to be free.

Its why they hate work from home. Covid came along and necessitated that workers en masse be given a benefit, and capitalists werent able to extract any concessions in return because it was an emergency. So, they claw it back, but you might be able to get a special exception if you play ball.

  • Democrats could have a pretty powerful anti-establishment and anti-billionaire narrative in the near future, and it would probably be pretty successful.

But only if the Democrat billionaires and establishment get out of the way.
