  • My point being web browsing and word processing was never a problem on linux or any other os. It is being used just because it is cheaper and people who buy personal pcs are still on windows or mac and they dont switch

  • All they need is a chrome browser, so why would the government waste money on windows licences? A huge win is when personal pcs switch to linux. Linux doing basic web browsing and word processing is not a huge win.

  • I was specifically taking about office pcs. People sitting in front of those office pcs have better things to worry about. Their interaction with the linux os is clicking that giant chrome icon and they do whatever the IT guy taught them.

  • 5ghz wifi not working is a known problem. I had the same issue with multiple distros on a hp laptop. But i installed windows 11 and everything worked perfectly, even the trackpad for some reason felt better than in linux. Everything was taken care by windows updates.

  • What good does a good code base do when it cant run popular games and apps like cod, valorant, siege, league of legends, destiny, adobe apps etc? On windows everything just works even though it is not transparent or open source.

  • Open source software also works on windows. I use package managers on windows with terminal. I uninstall all the bloat with terminal on windows. Everything just works and is supported better on windows.

  • Wow why linux is so broken with multiple package mangers. Is it supposed to be easier than windows? On windows i just type "choco install blender" on terminal and everything just works.
