  • I swear, google's quality control on the pixels is just bad. I had a Pixel 5a, when I got it, the phone was a year old. Out of the box it was slow, I tried so many things to get it working correctly and it just never did. Then 7 months in it just died.

After a ton of back and forth with support and them trying to tell me I had water damage when I didn't, I finally got another Pixel 5a. That one works super well in comparison. I didn't use it much because I was so fed up with the whole debacle with Google that I switched to an Asus Zenfone 9. But the little I did use it, it was faster than the other 5a ever was.

My first pixel 5a almost never picked up my "ok Google"s whereas my Asus Zenfone 9 works while it's playing music full volume, or while I'm playing music in the car, and a ton of other situations where my pixel and my galaxy s9 I had before never did. It's so odd.

That being said, the Zenfone is way worse at shazaming things for some reason. I definitely think it's not only a per phone model basis but also a per singular phone basis thing.

  • It could be coincidentally in line with you getting gunk in your mic or something. Or it could be that your particular phone doesn't handle android 12 very well. I've had less issue with voice recognition on android 12 and 13. Maybe try re-training the voice model.

  • For Nas and regular files I use cx file explorer, it's really good

  • I've found on budget/older phones voice recognition is useless, I recommend something more modern of you can afford it, maybe a flagship from a year or two ago

  • Yep, the two I used to replace it are one, fstop which us my go to, you used to be able to get the pro version for free on fdroid, not sure if you still can. Two, simple gallery, that one I think it has a pro but I can't remember but if it does, you can get it on fdroid.

I like fstop overall more, but simple gallery has most of the same features with imo a slightly worse ui, but it has webp support which is nice.

  • I'd say pg-13 is an appropriate rating, its got some mild dirty humor but nothing crazy.

  • Considering barbie is a children's franchise I don't see how that's surprising at all tbh

  • She was a bad girl with a secret heart of gold, her an draken get together at the end of the series and go good(ish) , it's very sweet

  • The article you provided and states right there that those who do not have generational wealth don't benefit from credit scores because several of the considered factors are things they don't have.

I don't know if I buy that they were created to reduce discrimination, but even if they were, it's an incredibly flawed system.

If a person pays off a loan that is a good thing. That shouldn't make tour credit score lower.

I paid off a loan and a card and consolidated my debt to a lower interest rate loan and my score dropped 20 points even though I had overall less debt and at a lower interest rate. All because the average age of my credit dropped.

  • Excellent

  • Full circle with the bundle of sticks derogatory term

  • Looks like we need a c/sbubby

  • I think you can do similar with collections

  • Oh neat, that's a cool option, if not for organization for nostalgia's sake

  • Oh that's way creepier that the top

  • Don't get me started man, currently organizing a 6+ year old spaghetti code Javascript app. It was running a version of node below 1

This app had git versioning and I am seeing shit like "filenameNew" "filenameOld" there's also multiple old versions of the app that were just chilling in nested upon nested folders of themselves.

  • Maybe it's like aloha but with a v

  • I switched from bitwarden to 1password because the password autofill was less intelligent.

    What's your issue with 1password?
