  • Interesting, thanks for sharing that. Still it's the race distance that's the differentiator. Remember De Vries couldn't get out of the car either after his super sub for Albon. I wasn't thinking at the time how dangerous that could be, so yeah I agree with you.

  • From memory, isn't this one of the races where the world feed is done by the local organisers and not F1 itself? I seem to remember Japan is usually bad for missing stuff and cutting to the wrong this

Think the drivers in the cool down room summed the race up well!

  • He confirmed he was fine when it happened unless you've heard different? He could do with a clean weekend ASAP. As much as I enjoyed Colapinto's run and think he certainly should have a seat, Doohan has worked hard to get to F1 and deserves his shot. 2 races isn't enough to gauge much, especially when one of those was wet/dry

  • Zero experience with 2026 however (per the whole grid), and demonstrably struggled with the current regs over time. I wouldn't say it's a no brainer with the amount of talent generally sloshing around.

Agree on Indy drivers, admittedly the only other candidate I can think of would be Jam Crawford who seems solid not amazing

  • I get what you're saying but Lawson was immediate box office in f2 and then (almost) won super formula and DTM. Doohan had his moments. He wasn't bad.

Tbf Sergeant's junior career was impressive, maybe less so I'm f2. de Vries was worse overall IMHO.

Mazepin was pure shit in f2 and pure shit in f1 because you cannot polish a turd.
