I'm curious to see if AI tech can actually help fight some of the bullshit out there someday. I agree that current AI is only making it easier to produce bullshit, but I think with some advances it could be used to parse a long-winded batch of bullshit, and summarize it, maybe with bullet points about how the source material is wrong. If they can make an AI as confident as chatgpt, but without as much of the "makes stuff up left and right" it could be useful.
THEN we just have to worry about who owns the AI that parses and summarizes the info we take in, and what kind of biases they've baked into the tech...
You're alluding to leg atrophy from wheel chair use, but could you go ahead and explain how you believe not wearing a bra would be less detrimental to your tits?
(I don't disagree where you say it's bad for your posture, and I'm not even sure I disagree with you saying it's bad for your tits, which is why I'm asking for a clearer explanation. Maybe I just don't understand what you mean by "detrimental")
I'll try to do this, but man it'd be great if there was an AI program that could auto caption/describe pictures as I post them. Or maybe just one that could interpret and describe everything on the screen, for a visually impared user.
I think one thing you can do is just practice smiling. Smiling sends you good brain chemicals, even if you're not happy. Maybe those other guys joke and laugh with each other, but not you, because when they see your serious face, they think you don't want to interact with them. If you smile when you overhear their jokes, they may rope you in. And people just like seeing someone smile. (Generally. If people start looking worried and edging away from you slowly, maybe dial it back a little.)
One other thing I think of as a hallmark of crotchety people is reacting to any development pragmatically or even pessimistically. A lot of things that happen in life could be interpreted in multiple ways, and you can try to focus on the positive sides of things. Boss asks you to do extra work? Maybe it's an opportunity to impress them, or develop a new skill. Car won't start? Well, it IS nice out, and it feels good to go for a walk. I know that isn't always easy to do, often times a thing happens that is just crappy. But try to practice it whenever you get a chance, until it becomes a habit.
Additionally, since that's not always reliable, make a habit at the end of the day to think of and say out loud 3 things that happened that you were grateful for that day. They can be big broad things like "I'm glad I'm healthy" or even "I'm glad my back didn't hurt like usual" or really specific like "I'm glad Tony said he'd cover my shift at work, he didn't have to do that."
(I'm going to assume you just misremembered some details, but it's possible this joke was recycled a few times. This is the only version I know about.)
Ahh, but if I die of starvation, I can't very well make people happy, now can I? Assuming everyone followed the thought's direction, the way to best make people happy is for me to live a healthy and long life, probably. (Of course, it'd be up to each individual to determine how to best make other people happy. Maybe I would decide that my contribution to climate change was causing unhappiness, so I would end my life.)
