Where does such a culture exist?

If we keep using the current version and it never gets any updates, will it keep running the whole Switch game library.

My wife's HP laptop does this as well (she is running Windows). A previous laptop did this and a BIOS update fixed it. For most laptops the official response from manufacturers seems to be: eat shit.

I love Linux. I've moved both my PC and laptop to Linux this year and gotten rid of Windows completely and I'm loving it. OpenSUSE Tumbleweed doesn't get enough love.

That being said..... Linux is not easy guys. This guy is full of shit. But I would still recommend trying it if you're an enthusiast with this sort of inclination.

I got a good 10 years out of my previous machine using in place upgrades like this.

Upgrading SSD, RAM and an in-socket upgrade for the CPU will be pretty cheap. If he spends more money and upgrades the GPU as well then he should be good to go.

I'm keen to make a handwired macro board, but the learning curve of programming of QMK from scratch is not something I'm prepared to deal with right now.

So I guess the poop knife hardly ever gets used in your house then.

I've made 2 keyboards with kits (see my post history) and it was good fun and an easy way to get a QMK compatible custom board. Would recommend.

I mostly cut out the live news cycle from my life. There's really no benefit in keeping up with the immediacy of the live news cycle.

I still have the guardian news app just for the breaking news alerts in case of something major. The only reason I use this is that they tend to send the least number of bullshit notifications (e.g. no shit about British royal family drama).

I'm finding the news experience is much better when I catch a summary of the news story a few days later when the situation is better understood and developed. I get almost all my news from the TLDR news YouTube channel.

If you are going to use a news site, then I would suggest using it through an RSS reader app. That way the news comes through chronologically. If you do this, you get away from the bullshit prioritisation of stories on news websites.

Certainly not an over reaction. If an app sends me an uninvited notification then it gets uninstalled and black listed immediately. Even with apps I use regularly, the notifications are blocked most of the day. People undervalue their attention, and phone notifications are trying to steal your attention. Block it all. Even messaging and email apps can be blocked. I'm pretty sure I'm going to check my phone in a maximum of the next 60 min and a message can wait till I'm ready to look at my phone at my convenience.
