  • It sucks that the community for technology here hates tech more than loves it.

  • Cope

    Jump
  • So add some butter and seasoning.

  • I'm not even that far in lol he mentions him in like the opening

  • I only had issues with this when setting up Kali Linux for learning pen testing. Fedora it worked out of the box.

  • I always knew Luke Stephens was a douche, but I didn't know it was that bad.

  • For now I will probably keep buying used Nvidia cards, but I've considered going AMD for graphics at some point. Love my Ryzen CPU.

  • Syndicate (2011)

Syndicate was a really niche entry into the Cyberpunk genre that flopped commercially but had some interesting ideas about corp-ocracy and the way businesses of the future would wage warfare against each other like nations used to.

That main menu music has echoed in my brain for years. Deus Ex: Human Revolution would have been first but Syndicate is less well known and I figured someone already mentioned DE:HR at some point here.

  • Someone: Doesn't like Mass Effect

    Me: "WEAKENING THEIR INTEGRITY!!!"

  • It's anecdotal but I saw a significant improvement in multiple games on an Nvidia 1050 running Nobara. Had no issues installing drivers and getting things set up.

  • You can bring your girlfriends, and meet me at the hotel room.

  • Because they have a munchkin or a Corgi and are mad that their animal is also designer but doesn't want to include it.

  • Too bad the grievances of these specific terrorists is that if you don't become muslim they'll kill you.

This isn't some fucking oppressed minority group just trying to be a good lil' bean and live their lives. They're radicals that want to genocide people and convert the world to islam by force and threat of death of you don't.

Do you think you should engage with domestic right wing US terrorism? To ask the christo-fascists why they are doing what they're doing and to please stop it? No, they're insidious because they will die believing they're 100% in the right and that you trying to prevent them from a full takeover is being "intolerant."

Fucking insane you people sit here defending the middle east's version of conservative Christian nationalism. Fuck all religious nutter butters, they're the crabs in a bucket trying to revert us to the middle ages so they can have their way with society.

  • You don't need 8th Gen. It's just that 7th gen specifically doesn't work. I'm pretty sure older Intel chips are fine. TPM isn't on your CPU.

  • Does Windows still allow your applications to function update after update if you decide to stick with Windows 10? Yes. Can you just stay on W10 and expect things to keep working? Also yes.

I don't have to worry about the newest version of Adobe Premiere not being compatible with this older version of iOS, oops now our promo team and our production team aren't able to share their files because one bought newer Macs and now has an upgraded version of Adobe that Catalina doesn't support unless you also buy new machines that are allowed to update through to Monterey.

Apple is fine for home use, but as someone who works operations side IT and has to constantly perform network workarounds to get their equipment functional in a commercial environment, fuck Apple and their "We did the thinking for you uwu™️" nonsense.

  • Apple: "Sorry but your hardware seems to be out of date with our OS! Please buy another 3000 dollar laptop that's only worth 1000!"

    Me: "But it still runs?"

    Apple: "Does it, though?"

    Me: "Well not anymore... Thanks."

  • 100% guaranteed weeb.

  • No, it's been the catch all phrase used by people trying to avoid the inevitability of a fully automated economy that we need to begin preparing solutions for. It's likely 100 years off but it'll be a slow trickle of robotics and niche AI models slowly reducing the work that can be done by humans.

Yeah sure in the first fifty years a lot of jobs will be created for maintenance and repair of these machines and their VI's, but eventually troubleshooting and maintenance can be done by machines as well.

Then what? What do we do when the population is in the billions and workable jobs are in the hundreds of thousands? Capitalism doesn't have a solution for that, only a UBI of some kind will suffice.

Either that or most will starve while four or five families own trillions of dollars of economic production.

  • "learn to code!"

    AI takes coding jobs

"Learn how to be a plumber!"
