I have driven an old Nissan leaf for 5 years as a commuter, and I love it I don't pay for gas or maintenance the electrons are free, and the insurance is cheap. I'm waiting on some more robust options so I can have an EV as my main car.
Too bad we have tariffs on the products needed to fight climate change.. I'm just pissed off that they make going green more expensive. Both parties support these tariffs as if we can suddenly become competitive. Who cares who makes this stuff we can't let perfect be the enemy of good
Exactly we also need to work on materials.. Federalizing the legalization of cannabis would go a long way into fixing the materials industry. Plastics need to fully be taken out of the supply chain for packaging, and replaced with biodegradable hemp based plastics. Polyester also needs to be removed from the clothing supply chain. I have several shirts that are hemp cotton blends that are amazing.
China is beating is on hemp production.. We should be crushing this gap.
Elon doesn't want to have to compete with Chinese makes rolling into Mexico. Trump promised 200% tariffs on Mexican produced cars. He basically has a captive market in the US on connected cars I don't really see anything in our domestic market that is comparable.
Yeah I find it a ridiculous parallel I recently saw an article that put a number on Chinese EV subsidies and it seemed extremely low compared to the barrels of money we've been giving the oil companies.
Yes they added THC to the caffeinated malt liquor
