it is a text based environment of you OS, you can switch between multiple text based environments. if your graphical environment is just black, but the OS is still active you should be able to switch to another text based environment using that key combo (ctrl-alt-f2 or f3 or f4 etc.) from there you can potentially roll back the driver, view system logs to troubleshoot, etc.
What distro are you using? Which deivers did you update? What hardware do you have? nvidia gou? etc. Definitely first try going into different tty with ctrl-alt-f2 or f3 etc.
I mean propaganda is a helluva drug. Remember "Got Milk" or "Beef, its whats for dinner" What about the "food pyramid" they teach you in elementary school. all of it is propaganda for industrial producers. so we know it is possible to influence the masses to consume in a certain direction. it just needs to be going in the correct direction. which will take alot of time because how much is already so heavily invested into getting their industry to where it is today.
but when you dont regulate corporations they will exploit and destroy anything and everything to monopolize and capitalize to the fullest extent. its not that the consumption of meat is bad, from a responsible regenerative agroforestry standpoint raising animals can help your regenerative agriculture system. it is monoculture and monopolization of the industry, pushing out responsible small scale community providers etc. that produce in a more ecologically responsible way. not to negate that populations consuming a lot of meat daily do end up becoming a market for irresponsible producers that "need to keep up with demand" to continually profit.
Im beginning to use lemmy more and more and preferring it over reddit. Its much better, conversationally and without the suggested Jesus and Army and Navy ads etc. However my usage is still similar to reddit, ie scrolling and reading alot of things and memes etc. But the conversational interactions seem alot more productive, i like that.
lol at government email using microsoft which has been known for poor security for decades..."we dont practice proper security measures on the internet, but its the damn chinese!"
Nothing currently can compete with Adobe Photoshop. Unless they port it to linux. It would take open source devs serious time to catch up to Photoshop development. Plus without making millions of dollars for decades, the development of another application of that scale and complexity would be a serious undertaking. That said GIMP as you know is probably the best "alternative". For me I just dual-boot and use windows for basically Adobe Suite. All other times I use linux. However I learned GIMP a long time ago so I am comfortable using it for what it can do, and I'm probably faster in GIMP than PS. I am not a professional graphic designer etc. though.
i guess cross your fingers and do a hard reboot!
