  • im not an expert on congressional procedure but considering that the Republicans have a majority in both the house and Senate, an impeachment vote would always fail because they would never go against trump. also, its not a great look if a representative is always introducing bills that are rejected by a vote, die in committee, or are never even put on the schedule. just think about how Bernie Sanders was dragged for not introducing enough legislation that actually passed into law during his long career.

  • if you want to compare Indiana Jones to real life, the movies say flat out that he is an unscrupulous grave robber and he is completely aware of the hypocrisy. its part of his character arc, where he's all about fortune and glory and doesnt believe in any of the mystical crap, until he is confronted with powers he didn't understand and fights to stop others from exploiting them. and at the end of the day it was a movie

  • the manosphere continuing to build power is all from capitalism, which has removed upward growth and community spaces for young white men. I say white because men from minority groups already have those problems but they don't have the inherent privileges that allow angry white men to make their problems into everyone's problems. also parents and schools dont have any resources to deal with children who are already sucked into the manosphere, short of cutting off access to the Internet

  • I read some stuff and its not exactly clear why it's called that. it could possibly be how poor people living in the countryside would usually have access to fresh milk from having a cow, and the process to make cottage cheese is less refined, so a city dweller used to fancier cheese would consider the cheap cheese more befitting of someone who lives in a cottage

  • the thing about Democrats and 'liberals' is that its a broad coalition of ideologies and political groups competing for power and having to compromise. we all want to bring about our vision of society and help people, but small differences lead to huge schisms. also, monied interests have undue amounts of power over our institutions.

conservatives on the other hand are completely united by cruelty and adherence to rigid heirarchies (in spite of how dysfunctional they are), and basically the only issues they ever have in their own base is that something isn't causing enough pain to people they hate.

i feel it is important to hold our representatives accountable, but saying things like both sides are exactly the same or complaining about liberals as if they are one cohesive entity has no value outside of pushing people away from politics. there are VERY specific people and groups that are making very bad decisions for Americans, like AIPAC or other big donors that simultaneously fund people like Andrew Cuomo and Donald Trump
