  • Took today off work to try and shake the last of this cough. Codral Original seems to be kicking its ass which is good. Noticeable improvement since I started taking it yesterday.

Went to the Pancake Parlour for some breakfast for lunch and then saw The Beekeeper at the movies. That movie is dumb as hell but it means to be so that's ok. I do like that they're bringing a real issue to more people's attention and I hope lots of middle age/older people see it and learn from it (the bad guys are phishing scammers and it shows how they do it, in an easy to understand simplified way).

Jason Statham sure does kill and maim a lot of innocent people who are just doing their jobs though... but we look past that because it's a silly shoot-em-up movie.

  • "In 2024–25, the Government will simplify and flatten the personal tax system by abolishing the 37 per cent tax bracket entirely. Australians earning more than $41,000 will only pay 32.5 cents in the dollar all the way up to the top marginal tax rate threshold that will be adjusted to $200,000."

This is actually great for me and a lot of people who aren't on 200k+

  • When I did support I LOVED self-solvers. It's like a little feelgood story and your stats get padded for doing nothing. People on the phone would often apologise but I'd just say no need, I'm happy to hear everything is ok. Everyone is happy. Good times.

  • Deezer's site says they have Android Auto support. Should be there as an app.

  • Just re-enabled my Work alarm for the first time since before Christmas. Sad times.

  • Sorry you got priced out :( How do you know about the lots of places coming onto the market?

  • What an odd symptom. Can't say I had that one! I was actually trying to eat as much spicy stuff as I could when I lost my taste/smell to try and taste something.

  • I did a COVID test and it came back negative but still coughing my face off today. Decided I wouldn't go to dinner tonight and cough all over the place. Think I might nap.

  • I'd love it if this COVID cough could kindly fuck right off. I should get some lozenges.

Anyways, it's my dad's 70th birthday tomorrow but we're doing dinner tonight. On brand for me, I'm about to go and buy him a gift today at the last minute. Going to get him a Ring doorbell and chime, and I'll pay for a year of the subscription service for him. He has been talking about getting one for years.

I shouldn't be contagious anymore I think with my COVID but I'm wondering if I should mask up anyway. Hmm.

  • The Vietnamese ladies I pay don't seem to have any issues cutting them

  • The winner with the $50 guess is PeelerSheila! I spent $126.50 over 2 days then didn't drink booze for the rest of the trip because that's when I got sick.

    Enjoy your celebratory Numbat!

  • Anybody want to guess how much I spent on booze on the cruise?

Keep in mind that in order to make the booze drinks package worth it, I would have had to have spent $75 every day on alcohol (which is how much more on top of the non-booze package I got it would have cost).

So as long as my total is below $750 I made the right choice.

Closest guess wins umm.. a prize of some kind.. I'll figure it out. Guesses open until 9pm.

  • Aaand home. Banger of a day outside but for now I think I'll just lay down for a bit.

  • I have arrived in Albury pretty glad to have decided to break up the drive. I could have pushed through but it would have been rough near the end I suspect.

Lovely day here too! I was expecting rain but found sunshine.

  • Mine is a great colour! (Not the rental)

  • Turns out the Mystery Car I booked ended up being the non-turbo base model version of my car!

It's fine on the highway but it is making me appreciate the turbo and the extras my car has. Glad I got to drive this.

  • I found that rain! Got through it no worries though. Just at Yass now.
