  • Something to keep in mind is that the housing supply is already enough. We don't need new buildings to house everyone, we need to put people in the housing that already exists but is kept empty as investments. Inconveniencing landlords is good, actually, and while it would be better to inconvenience them right out of landlording, inconveniencing them a bit is better than letting them take as much as they can. None of the other stuff you mention is mutually exclusive with rent control.

  • I used Manjaro for a while. Twice I had updates break stuff so thoroughly that I had to reinstall the OS entirely. The second time, I installed Pop OS instead and it's been smooth sailing since.
