  • When the whole Cerritos crew was having an orgy in 2x08 (in a holodeck sim, but then you cited holodecks sims first) Billups was sitting there in the nude reading happily on his own.

I took his mother's choice of who to send to him as more evidence of her trying anything and everything (other than just accepting his asexuality) than knowing his actual interests.

Also, aromantic and asexual are different things and do not necessarily go together, so showing romantic interest does not necessarily disprove asexuality.

  • Right. The only thing missing from this analysis, I think, is that it's less about his desire to be a Starfleet engineer than his asexuality. I think if his mom would just stop trying to trick him into doing the weird sex ritual he'd be happy playing with dragonbreath instead of warp plasma.

  • It had exactly the opposite effect for me. I greatly disliked season 1 of Discovery but thought they wrapped it up well enough at the end of the season that they could move on. Georgiou showing back up in season 2 read to me as them having learned absolutely nothing and doubling down on the disaster rather than backpedaling from it.

  • Discovery bringing Georgiou back in season 2 as a Section 31 agent felt to me like the show was doing this, and is what put me off that show specifically. I really like the majority of modern Trek shows, and even like 2 out of 3 of the Kelvin timeline movies.

  • If humans treat goblins like shit because they're goblins, and a goblin turns into a big bad because they want to kill the humans that slaughtered their village, then critical support to that goblin

  • The mirror universe section 31 stuff was THE reason I stopped watching Discovery. I disliked it in season 1 but thought it was wrapped up well enough at the end of the season. Then Georgiou showed back up in season 2 and I just completely gave up on the show.
