Usenet to me seems more like Lemmy than anything else. All conversations are groups by topic, just like Lemmy. Although they are all just "text posts".

I don't see how a "Chrome" company would make any money. Now if the Chrome Company also owned ChromeOS and Chromebooks that might be interesting. But it could also be bad, because such a company would probably want to take a cut of every Chromebook in order to actually make money.

Isn't forex just foreign currency trading? I don't understand how a foreign currency could be worth 50000USD one minute and only 600USD 5 minutes later unless it was a country with hyperinflation.

Actually the Harris campaign gave money to the DNC (or some other fund) to help fund other candidates, not the other way around. That didn't give the DNC the slightest bit of leverage over Harris. If anything it was the opposite. The suggestion that someone at the DNC ran the Harris campaign instead of Harris is ludicrous.

There is nothing at all wrong with Kamala being endorsed by Republicans if the reason is that Republicans are putting party before country. All that matters would be if they affected her policy positions, which they did not.

I'm fine with people being offended as long as it is something legit to be offended about. Sometimes people are offended by legit things and sometimes not. That's why "woke" is to vague to be meaningful. I have to hear the specific thing to know whether I agree/disagree.

The party did not "thrust a candidate on you". The elected delegates chosen by the voters chose a nominee. As for Harris, she was chosen by the delegates because she was the VP. And she was the VP because she came in 2nd place behind Biden in the 2020 primary. The 2020 voters "demanded" Biden first, and "demanded" Harris 2nd. Unfortunately Bernie was not first or 2nd.

The DNC has equal "involvement" in every election, which is to hold primary elections so voters can choose a nominee. The nominees chosen by the voters all run their own campaigns.

Harris is not the DNC. The DNC is not a person. The DNC did not "campaign with they Cheneys". The DNC did not "push 10 year old GOP politicies." Nor did Harris, to my knowledge.

The only job of the DNC was to hold primaries. And they did that. Biden dropped out after the primaries were over.

The DNC's only main job is to hold primaries. It's not up to them to "learn" anything. They always go with the choice of the voters. The only people who can learn anything from this is the voters. The DNC is not a person. It is an fluid organization controlled by the primary voters.

Harris was running the campaign and funding the advertisements. Not the DNC.

At no time in the history of modern politics has the “popular vote” taken precedence over the electoral college.

Everybody already knows that. It sill matters. Or would matter, if Harris had gotten more total votes.

Yes I would like to know what that means for ChromeOS and Chromebooks. If the new "Chrome" company got ChromeOS also that would be huge. But if that is not a requirement Google could just put another Chromium browser in ChromeOS. They could also continue to sell Chromebooks but based on a ChromiumOS fork.

What's your point? Ban "evasion" is a feature of fediverse, not a bug. In the fediverse, you are immune from rando-bans.

Anybody who really does deserve to be banned, will repeat the behaviour that got them banned. So for those people there is no point with ban "evasion".
