  • Not everyone has Excel or even a monitor.

I pdf everything I send by mail because I know they're going to watch it on a phone or tablet just as if they got a printed paper delivered by snail mail.

This way I can set the print area and focus on what I want them to see. It also stops them from overwriting my formulas and sending it back for me to fix. There's nothing worse than working on somebody else's spreadsheet. Just as much as I dislike receiving Excel sheets, I also don't want to put anyone else in that situation.

  • I think this board would work great with butter too.

Butter packaging comes with the same kind of markings. Usually 50g instead of 1 cm, but I guess you can do the math depending on what you need to slice with a string.

  • It is sometimes done in German. The word is Zwei, but it's somewhat common to say Zwo instead for clarity. The w is pronounced.

I guess the" tw" sound isn't used as frequently in English. It happens in between.

  • It's farm products. I don't think it's any better or worse than American farms.

Most meals are cooked at home and people do expect fresh produce. The milk in stores was tapped the same morning, vegetables are crispy green and minced meat is red. A negative side is that we do have an incredible waste of food here, because people set high standards. Nobody buys anything on the "best before"-date.

I think the quality of food in USA is very dependent on location, distribution and preparation. Surely there is fresh food in US too, but it won't be in the drive-thru.

  • The current food production is approximately at 130% of the consumption, so Denmark will still have a net export.

Of course we also have imports, so the effect will be even smaller in that regard, but it's nice to know that it's fully covered in a worse case scenario.

  • You won't need to ask anyone to "try it" or install anything. You simply send a link to the meeting and then it works for anyone on any device.

That's the good thing about it. You don't have to coordinate whether the other part has Teams, Google Meet or Zoom or whatever.

It runs in the browser, it's free, encrypted and no account or installation required.

  • What you're describing sound more like relief than happyness.

I felt somewhat similar when my dad died. He was drinking and declining mentally. Of course it saddened me, but with us having our first born at the same time, it was also a huge relief not having to deal with his issues in that situation.

  • Ok, get this. You elect politicians to "help slash federal spending".

What the hell is Musk even doing and why is he outsourcing this job to unpaid idiots, when politicians already get paid to do this?

Okay, I'll do a few suggestions for free:

    • Stop subsidizing companies. All of them.
    • Tax the rich to boost the federal income.
    • Legalize all immigrants so they can be tax paying citizens.
    • Crack down on employers using illegal underpaid illegal immigrants.
    • Provide universal health care. Sick people don't work.
    • Cut down on police force spending.
    • Cut down on car infrastructure spending.
    • Cut down "defense" spending in artificial oil wars.
    • Help Ukraine to defeat Russia, so Russia will have to surrender and disarm their nukes, so that USA can also cut down on cost for maintenance of nukes.
    • Expand renewable energy. It's free energy yo, and it creates jobs for tax paying citizens.
    • Stop mining fossil fuels. It will cost more to clean that shit up than is earned.
  • I'd say that if you do have an opinion and state an opinion on something, then you should also know enough to explain why.

Specifically about politics, it's scary how many people have an opinion without knowing why. Politics is also something that everyone should have an opinion on, because it affects pretty much everything, so everyone do have an interest in something political. It shouldn't be based on feelings or the charisma of the candidate or group pressure. It should be based on what affects you and how you'd want it done.

  • It's the meme timeframe for employees under Trump. It's about 10 days, but really -3 days.

Trump hired Anthony Scarramucci (The Mooch) as White House Communications Director to start on August 2017.

As a good boi, he started the job right away on July 21, leaving his pregnant wife at the hospital.

Trump then hired John Kelly and John Kelly fired the Mooch on July 28.
