  • If our system didn't turn every action with police into one that will literally ruin lives even if your innocent, have the potential to be extra judicially murdered, and have to deal with a police force who has no patience and will remarkably quickly escalate to violence themselves maybe the populace wouldn't resist cops so much

  • Maybe buy a few companies I really hate and just shut them down?

Produce a few films. Hire someone to rewrite and rework the script I have for a short. The premise is good, my writing sucks.

Maybe start a studio, I've always loved the film industry.

    Get a pilots license.

Buy a summer house on a lake with a dock.

Get a Grumman Mallard or similar.

Use it as a flying RV and go camping all over.

Build really cool Halloween setups each year.

Hand out full size candy bars.

Get a hair transplant or something.

  • You can get an older model Samsung Evo 1tb SSD new for under $100. Those have been good drives for me.

You can probably find something to shuck used if you don't care too much for reliability.

Regardless, get a second disk even something attached to your main PC to handle backups.

RPi are nice, but imo are getting expensive and if you aren't using the i/o pins just not worth it. If I were to just start out again I'd pickup a used laptop. Higher specs than a RPi and built in battery backup.

  • Investments, trust funds, paying off debt and my mortgage. Set up enough in investments that I'll always have a million or so in post-tax interest income.

Trust funds and investments for my family so they have money coming in.

    Remodel my house.

Rent a condo in Wrigleyville during the Cubs season. Rent a condo in Mesa during spring training.

    Open a bar or two.

    Hire a dietician/personal cook.

Buy a handful of cars, the most extravagant would probably be a Catterham.

Open an automotive shop to restore cars. I know that'll be a loss but it will be a good hobby for something I like to do.

Travel a bunch. Follow the Cubs for a season and go to every game.

    Buy dual citizenship somewhere.

    Donate to AOCs campaign.

    Club 33 membership.

Occasionally take private jets when I fly, but pick up families that are flying coach when I go and bring them along for free. It's no fun being alone.

Do a bunch of the traditional billionaire things like go fishing on a private yacht.

Finally not stress about going out to dinner.

  • Even physical hardware, if your paying power you can have clusters of physical hardware power up and down based on usage. There is no point in having 10 physical hosts running when the workload for n+1 means 3 servers overnight. With bnc, ipmi, ilo, idrac it will power them up as needed.

  • "loyalty." Heh. I'm not loyal to Biden. I would prefer another viable candidate. But unfortunately, here we are. I don't have another viable democratic candidate. The party doesn't have another viable candidate.

So I'm going to vote Biden. Mainly because I absolutely do not want Trump.

  • I specifically trained myself away from it when I went to working remote. I don't want to be tied to my desk when I could spend my day at the park, beach, coffee shop, bar, on a boat, or Disneyland and still get work done.
