Not exactly retail, but I was a first-level call center tech for a big US ISP, working the night shift, 11PM-7AM, and let me tell you, nobody who calls their ISP hotline at 3 in the morning is looking for a rational discussion to troubleshoot their internet connection. It definitely taught me a lot, but I can't say any of it was useful later in life.

The FSF has been a waste of resources for decades. They fundraise all day just to send some poor bastard in a GNU costume to Windows release parties. Seeing them choose Stallman as their hill to die on just cements how useless they already are.
