Given the fuckups around definitive editions and the fact that there's already so many great, free, open source Doom engines and content, this feels like a money grab and a step backwards.

Did Mozilla signal any intention to phase out V2 though? It makes sense for them to support both, as a lot of extensions (that don't rely on V2 features that are missing from V3) are going to be built for V3 now and if Mozilla wants to keep their extension store full. If they didn't offer both versions, extensions developers might disregard Firefox as a platform because of its low usage share numbers if they had to maintain two different architectures.

It takes a special kind of moron to accidentally buy a popular social against your will and still get hoodwinked by disinformation trolls on the platform you now own.

There's an interesting case study going on at the moment with that one Dutch Olympian convicted for a sex crime with a minor in the UK who has served his sentence (UK sentence got converted to a Dutch sentence, which meant he was released early). I'm not sure where I fall on this. Morally, I want to agree that serving your sentence means that this history shouldn't play a role in otherwise unrelated matters. But somehow it also doesn't feel right to have a convicted pedophile represent Olympic values?

Despite what others have mentioned, running a different LLM locally, it's also possible to get ChatGPT to do this sort of stuff by telling it to participate in a "debate exercise" and giving it its talking points.

No, they'll just see the management summary that Firefox occupies less than 0.5% of their users' marketshare and prioritize their budget accordingly.
