  • Might argue that the power ceded to the president over the last 2 decades is the real issue, so checks notes all of them are at fault.

  • Cool beans. So if compelled speech isn't free speech, I can still call it Gulf of Mexico...right?

So glad this is the focus, by the way

  • Lol MF, it's literally how the govt is supposed to work

  • "Yea, but not my wife, she's one of the 'good' ones!" - JD, in his mind

  • Dear Quebecer,

    Got any room?

    Sincerely, a New Englander

  • I'm still frustrated that it's his own trade deal that he is renegotiating...so then his original deal wasn't good? Maybe he shouldn't be the* one in charge of it?

I know its mostly yelling into the void, but goddamn.

  • If there's an issue, explain the issue. Don't brick phones and say "Oh no! Here, pay us money to get a brand new one! We'll cover some cost...after fees are subtracted, of course."

There isn't really an upshot here

  • I'm fairly certain if this is allowed, that's curtain call. He doesn't control those pursestrings, as they were laws passed by Congress.

    ie, this is illegal.

  • Babymetal is probably the best head down coding music I've ever experienced, have listened since 2016 or so

  • That's a good callout on me! I didn't mean to insinuate it was only that group one at a time, so thank you!

  • I wish I could upvote this harder. The Jewish people were subjected to horrific evils, but that wasn't just going to stop with them.

Society did a great job of teaching about the atrocities except to really hammer home that it was the "other" that was the target, not just that single group; they are the first, but wouldn't be the last if the Nazis were allowed to continue.

  • Wait, where?

He also signed a letter to the United Nations giving it notice that the US was exiting, which starts the formal process of withdrawal from the world’s main effort to mitigate the worst impacts of the climate crisis.

This appears to mean the Paris accord still?

  • Jfc

I'm not looking forward to the next week, let alone 4 years.

  • But also, we just learned that presidents can do illegal things with no consequences 😉

  • Aight Joe, now's the time to just forgive it all.

  • They were interviewing a dude from the oversight panel on NPR. He said, after being asked if it was due to the election:

MCCONNELL: Well, I'm now speaking just for myself. This is not the oversight board speaking, but I do think that there's bad optics here, that it looks like and may be even the reality - I don't know. But it certainly looks like this is buckling to political pressure. I would have liked to have seen these reforms laid out, you know, in more - in less contentious and partisan times so that they would be considered on the merits rather than looking like this is - you know, Donald Trump is president, and now they're caving.
