  • Pasting my reply in a separate comment by OP here.

    ...

Ah.. this person is a complete utter Indian/Modi hater. Read their comment history. I've replied to them in a previous comment related to India space techs. He kept throwing arguments that I believed in a (supposedly) Indian propaganda and Modi kept his people starving backed this same reference. When I see this post I wonder if they would be here throwing the same hatred. Lo and behold, who have I found.

Edit. I've found their previous comment thread. Their comment began quite sound but getting ridiculous down the thread. According to them, It seemed no matter what, Indian space techs just an illusionary accomplishments where any other country can achieve (which is not true as my I put out a reply that my country can't, and likely so for many other countries) and India shouldn't invest in techs because their citizens are starving - which is ridiculous to me as we need to invest in knowledge to progress. Every country has to deal with countless domestic issues but that shouldn't stop them progressing technology wise.

  • Sorry to say, I would take this with grain of salt. Not making profits is part of business model of these pioneering companies. Google, Amazon and Uber (etc) were in the negatives for so many years and they absorbed the losses in order to be the dominant brands where at the end users become dependent on them. At that point they'll start to charge exorbitantly and forcefully add unneeded features that will exert more control upon their users but there's nothing that they can do but pay, for the simple fact that they can't do without them.

  • As a non-white, an outsider and onlooker on the American sociopolitical scenery, I can attest that I also regard the non-white people as perceptually racist, and sometimes even worst. It's been many occasions that I observed where they don't say a word regarding all-non-white-casts movies. But when people made all-white movies (or if none of them won any awards), they will throw tantrums for being left out. Quite typical scenarios.

  • meaning most shell scripts won't work

What do you even mean? I run my bash script on Fish shell. No problem. Just need indicate the shebang at the top of the shell script.

unless you want to run zsh/bash commands in cli mode - that's a different story.

  • Much the popular posts in lemmy are memes, shitpostings, or politics/technology news which we can easily obtain from other media. The way I see it, lemmy lacks experts, scientists, doctors etc that that can bring interest and credibility to the posts or threads. They can help generate quality contents, what lemmy lacks till now.

  • This worked. Thanks

    Glad to hear that.

Tho weirdly yearly is double the cost of lifetime.

Yep. Lj mentioned he hasn't finalized the the pricing for Ultra yet. So it's kind of weird when the users from India mentioned e.g. here they got lifetime ultra for a ridiculously very cheap price.

Whatever it is, Sync has become reachable and more affordable with the new pricing.
