  • I'm sorry, has this community somehow become some sort of curtain community? Is the delicate interplay between the colors and textures of the curtain, wallpaper, and flooring supposed to move me in some way that speaks "cat"? How dare you! Are there no standards anymore? Have we no decency amongst ourselves? Will the mods not step in to put an end to silliness like this? I did not sign up to see boring pictures of curtains with remarkably cute little paws. What is this preposterousness?

  • Use your celery as an ingredient to make other things amazing. Mirepoix would be my first suggestion.

Tangentially related: It's also great to add to a stock, and if you ever get a grocery store rotisserie chicken, you should consider making stock with it after you've cleaned off all the meat you want. Skin, bones (broken bones are even better), celery, onions, carrots... Even onion skins and those celery leaves I mentioned, it can all go in, you just strain everything out after you're done cooking.

Pretty much any time you cook meat, consider incorporating celery into the ingredient list. It's a friendly companion.

  • I like that, I can get on board with that

Edit: I really like this. In fact, I hope you don't mind, but I'm stealing it. Plutofascists masquerading as technofascists.

  • It's the MAGA-fascists, the technofascists, and the Christofascists, as far as I can tell

  • Roses are red

    Violets are blue

    I've given up

    How about you?

  • Ah thank you, I bet you're right. We've got a ton of both.

  • That's kind of what I was wondering, the bronze birch borer has been expanding its range and it's definitely in some areas around my state already

  • It's Christofascism. They published it way before the election, it was available as a free PDF for anyone to download and read, but where they really tricked us is they made it nearly 900 pages. The volume of it, coupled with the long-term assault on our education system which has produced a USA that reads at something like a 6th grade reading level as far as average adults go, and further enfuckened by our insanely short attention spans, means most of the people that voted in the Project 2025 administration had no idea what it contained.

Someone else already linked it, so I wont duplicate that, i just wanted to add some extra context around how we US Americans had literally every chance to learn what these fuckheads intended to do. But our collective ability to make informed decisions has been undermined by a concerted effort from the right to make us dumb as rocks.

  • Chin up! In 10 years, it'll be 33% longer!

  • Extraordinary Repatriation, maybe? I'm going with that for now, anyway.

  • Well as long as they aren't also a vile and cruel piece of shit, they're just fine in my book and I hope their self-confidence discovers the boost it needs in these troubling times.

Otherwise, fuck 'em. Cry until the learning comes.

  • This newfound renormalizing of that prior irregularity helps to regulate things, you see.

  • Also Marco Rubio: We need to screen foreigner's socials for wrongthink or maybe blackhole them into CECOT or some Libyan concentration camp or whatever they come up with next

  • This is what using robots for police work looks like in 2025. It needs to be stopped, it will get worse. I'm not optimistic.

  • Impossible. If there were no such thing as fish, how could bees be fish?

  • Add one more step between the pumping and dumping cycles and I think that might encompass a lot of it. Namely, Pump, short, 'n dump

  • After watching the video of him and Ramaphosa, it seems clear to me there is a real chance the orange one thinks South Africa is simply the southernmost half of the African continent

  • WTF? "Thanks, Obama" is just over now? I reject this updated reality! We must get Obama a third term to rectify this madness!
