  • Yearning for affirmations via fake internet points is the toxic part, not the format of a website.

  • In my opinion, using windows server is only a disadvantage. Linux is the preferred server OS for almost any application. You will find a larger knowledge base online for both Linux and running all that software in Linux. Windows really only has a place as an exchange server IMO, and even then you can find a better option probably.

That being said, I will also recommend Debian.

  • Used Thinkpad from eBay is your best bet to start imo.

  • my favorite part is that humans have created an orbiting pile of garbage.

  • I self host bitwarden currently, but have been playing with the idea of using Vaultwarden instead, just haven’t gotten around to uprooting my working system.

  • I’ve been feeling this way about Discord for a while now. Their month long birthday spam was the icing on the cake for me.

  • Good oral hygiene practices don’t really differ between cultures. Cleaning your teeth properly is cleaning your teeth properly.

  • Let me guess, you are a centrist who leans left on the softball social issues, but conservative in the fiscal ones.

  • I thought they packaged some proprietary media codecs and drivers to make it more user friendly out of the box. I could also be mistaken about the status of those items.

  • It includes cinnamon which is mints in house DE, but all DEs can be installed on any distro. Mint is just Ubuntu with extra proprietary stuff. My point was that it’s weird to have them in separate arbitrary categories. Labeling Ubuntu as “Devil” and Mint as “Amazing” is odd when you realize they are the same.

  • Ubuntu and Mint are the same thing.

  • I use Debian so that i can ignore it for a year and it still wont break.

  • I think that is part of iOS and the real question is which app (likely third party) is causing that to be present enough to show up in the screen time usage.

  • Wasn’t intending to invalidate OP wanting privacy, I just don’t think that removing the antenna will do what they want.

Your argument is purposefully obtuse tho, lol. Underwear tracking… lol.

  • Honestly, I’m not sure how much you will achieve by removing the antenna. Especially when you use a cell phone and computer. What is it about car manufacturers that you are trying to hide from?

  • Many modern cars do have their own gps or cellular network for things like remote access/control. Some higher end cars also phone home with maintenance information that can help service managers and techs preemptively reach out for services. The only possible way to avoid that would be to stick to lower trim budget brands/models, but even then it’s hard for to avoid entirely.

  • I run my own instance so that i can take a little control over the drivel that scrolls past my eyes. Far right ideologies don't deserve a platform or an audience.
