  • Too early if I'm left to my own devices. Which nowadays is only if I have someone to babysit, otherwise my baby will climb over from her bed to mine and plant her full diaper in my face between 7 and 11:30 depending on her mood

  • Us night owls generally know others are sleeping at night so most of us are quiet. Morning people though? Fuck morning people. My ex would wake me up at 11 in the morning saying I can't sleep all day. Bitch I went to sleep at 9 after working all night to feed your spending habits. It's been two hours, at least give me a third hour before you wake me up.

  • Oh yeah I wasn't really confused, I just meant to make the point that simulation theory != Matrix. Matrix is A simulation, but simulation theory doesn't necessitate that we all have real bodies in a "real world". In fact, I think the matrix version of the simulation is less likely, as it would be more complex to achieve, at least in our reality. In simulation theory, if the simulation stops and is deleted, there may well be literally nothing left of us. That's not a trans allegory, that's an existential crisis

  • I know that The Matrix is a trans allegory but simulation theory isn't necessarily the same as being imprisoned in a simulation. It means we might not exist at all. Simulation goes away, we go away. Or maybe it's like The Matrix and we're all trans eggs. There's no way to know which version it is or how many people are real vs simulated.

  • I mean they've only had 3 models over the last 26 years. Everything else is a special edition of an existing model.

The looks aren't my cup of tea either these days. I loved the Zonda F as a teen, but these days I'd rather have a Mercedes V12 in a... Mercedes.

  • Maybe, but then these franchises were woke originally too. RATM also had a song about police being evil in... 1992. Superman's biggest villain was a billionaire.

To be clear I don't consider woke to be a bad thing unlike the person you replied to.

  • Also the second companion, Martha, was a black medical student. One of the best companions too, up there with Amy and Clara if you ask me. Wish she'd gotten more than one season.

  • I'm where you were, I think. Not religious or married young, but the whole "I'm pregnant" talk was very unexpected considering she was supposedly on the pill. She proceeded to manipulate me into taking more and more debt, to the point I think I had to lie about my expenses to get the last few loans. She was never really there for the kids (one from before me). When she said she'd take care of them during the day so I could work, she meant she'd scroll TikTok on the couch. So I worked at night, slept 2-3 hours per night for a long time till I gave up on the whole thing and said we're going to split up and our daughter's going to live with me.

I wish I could get a well-educated schoolteacher as an au pair. I can make about 3 national median salaries on my own, 4-6 if I work hard for the right clients... But doing it with a one year old at home is freaking impossible and with the stress of being unable to finish projects I'm not as active as attentive a dad as I should be either.

But au pairs aren't really a huge thing here. We're a source country for au pairs, not target. I could hire someone on a schedule basis, but that involves actually planning my work and life, very difficult with ADHD.
