  • Hmm all cheap lamps in this basic bitch's house

  • Like my kitchen tap? I think it's coated metal rather than, I dunno, an outdoor tap.. Would that still work?

  • I do, but out of paranoia the driver will skip it and drive straight to a depot without realising they still have a passenger. This may have happened to me when I was in primary school 😒

  • Are you by any chance in government and it was a private sector agency offering, like, a really cool, family vibe, like, you know, we work hard, but we play hard? We also have a ping pong table and free muffins?

I experienced similar in the past. They seemed to think their 'trying really hard to be like Google' schtick would make me ignore the worse benefits and salary.

  • Ah fair enough. I had second hand info from my partner who was looking into it. He already had a spare bike to convert and he didn't think it was too expensive to do - favoured the option over buying an actual E bike that he wasn't positive he'd use much.

  • Can you give some examples of things you've replaced? I'm just curious

  • You can get kits to retro fit a standard push bike. I think you can do that for a few hundred.

  • It's a perfectly fine zombie movie, but it only takes small elements from the excellent book. The book needs to be a TV series, made in a documentary style. I just pretend the movie is unrelated; it's enjoyable as just a standard action movie with zombies in it.

  • I've wondered about free suites like these - how do they make money, do you know?

  • I'm sure you're doing a great job, but I guess the subject was inceldom and the influence of Tate et al. As a woman myself, I know stranger danger in all mediums has been on the mind of every woman, since I was a child. It's the boys that the influence can turn to dangerous and rotten places, to the detriment of, in the case of incel ideologies, the safety of women.

  • Just have them as a boredom snack. Carrot sticks, red capsicum sticks (I think they're bell peppers in the US), and little grape tomatoes - they have enough sweetness to feel snacky and if you just have them in a bowl next to your computer, they'll become a habit to munch on. Doesn't need to be a lot. But you'll be introducing a good dose of fibre and vitamins into your diet without much effort.

  • I'm an elder millennial so my peers who are parents are savvy to the web and grew up enough with it to know its dangers. But it's also such an intrinsic part of kids' lives these days. When I was a kid it was a fun extra - a recreational activity like sport or watching movies. Now it's a legitimate and necessary part of their schooling, their social interaction, their understanding of the world, and a communication channel with peers and family.

I honestly don't know how my friends navigate the complexity of it. Like you said, it's frightening.

  • Or very young and impressionable without a loud enough opposing influence. My understanding is that young teens and even pre teens are being exposed to this way of thinking through their social media algorithms. Yes, parents need to be on top of their kids screen times, but no one is perfect and this shit is insidious.

  • Interesting, thanks!

I was young and late to trek, so Voyager was the only one I watched religiously. I found Lana's Klingon episodes dull.

  • I enjoyed this, thanks!

I'm a never-napper with over 20 years of insomnia under my belt.

I can pass out standing against the shower wall, though. So I have that going for me.

  • I don't understand this one, can you explain?
