  • I'd swear they're testing the limits how what they can get away with. It's only a matter of time before they start detaining and imprisoning US citizens under the guise of terrorism or something just for speaking out against the orange fuhrer and Elmo.

  • I don't know if it's broken, just slanted to favor industry as intended. It's amazing what happens when it becomes a job seekers' market though, and why corporations hate it when the labor market is hot in workers' favor since they don't have to play these bullshit power games when there are companies lining up to accept candidates.

  • I'd definitely agree, especially regarding driving. Last summer I was talking with my insurance agent, and wondering why auto insurance rates were going through the roof, to which he responded that accidents are surging. I live in a small town, and haven't really seen to much of an increase. Then I went down to visit my mom last weekend, and holy shit now I know what they're talking about. People driving like absolute lunatics, much worse than when I lived down there, especially during rush hour. Another side note, COVID broke people experiencing concerts. It used to be people dancing, moshing, singing along, etc. Now, people just stand there, usually on their phones, and look at you like a nutjob if you dance. I saw David Gilmore at the Hollywood Bowl a few months ago, and aside from people talking straight through the show (which happened even before COVID because people have always sucked), most of the crowd was sitting still in their seats, and the people behind us got mad when we were standing. It was weird. Like I know that Gilmore attracts an older crowd these days, but still, it's David freaking Gilmore.

  • That's kind of where I'm at. I really just want quality in terms of goods, and for theat reason I'm more inclined to shop at an actual store as opposed to online just to get something in my hands to feel out, as well as a good warranty for higher prices items. I've been trying to support smaller businesses since most of the stuff at box box stores is generally disposable crap anyway, it just depends on the item. But like the other guy said, I'm not spending a whole lot these days since disposable income isn't really much of a thing anymore.

  • I use it, and it has more helped with exposed tooth root sensitivity. Are you consistent with using it? I'm pretty sure it takes at least a few days to a week to build effectiveness and you have to keep using it without substitution.

  • Indeed. My brother and I have already had the idea that either I will build a single bed apartment for my mom with us, or he'll move his family into our family house and have her take to downstairs bedroom when the stairs become too much. No way in hell we're putting her in a home or letting her stay solo once she gets into her 80s.

  • I'll work 60-70 hour weeks in the summer, but it's my own company and it's our busy season. This allows me to work 20 hrs/week in the winter and not stress. My guys can work OT all they want, but it isn't mandatory.
