  • The US doesnt ban articles talking about highrises collapsing because of corruption.

Does China ban articles about highrises collapsing?

Can you provide any source for this?

I was referring to the highrises collapsing at all. As in, their maintenance was allowed to slack off to the point the building collapsed... while people were in it.

  • Where does that money come from? Hint: it isn’t from Mexican citizens.

Uhh, yes it is. Please provide a source to the contrary.

Describe the process that a normal Mexican citizen can use to hold a gang member from the cartel accountable.

I'm not saying none of them are doing it, but as a society they have collectively chosen to make gangbanging a very viable and lucrative option for those involved. There are Mexicans that refuse to reward gangbangers with sex or social standing, but they are fewer and less powerful than those who reward gangbangers. It's not a part of their collective culture to shun gangbanging.

What life experience am I missing that you have that would let me understand your point?

That luxuries and sex are the main reasons people make money. You take those away, and people will change their behavior to get them back. While I don't see business owners checking where customers get their money, it's definitely possible for women to avoid rewarding gangbangers with sex. They don't, so we continue to see gangbanging as a viable option for gangbangers.

Gangbanging isn't so fun when everyone around you, including women, despises you.

  • If you can read instructions, it’s not that hard to set these things up.

Lol. Like I said. Posts like these just show me how disconnected techbros are from normal people.

It’s just a matter of what you value more.

Yes, and people coming from paid streaming services value convenience over complexity. They would rather have a free streaming site than learn to self-host.

You don't have to "learn how to use a streaming site" like you would need to learn how to set up a fucking technology stack, lol. I don't even know what the other two things are, and I'm a techbro. I guess I can spend more time learning and configuring instead of just entering a URL and making sure I have uBlock Origin installed.

Don't I also need to download content for it anyways? Sheeh. This is getting pretty complicated for the average netflix user!

Sigh. Don't let technology control you. Know what you're doing, and why you're doing it.

  • However, should all people be damned because a few can’t be redeemed?

The thing is, all people aren't damned. There are plenty of options for rehabilitation in the US for prisoners who have the capacity for it and haven't committed crimes so heinous they don't deserve it. Those options should remain there and we should always be looking for ways to improve and expand upon them.

Still, what deters people from committing crimes isn't 'going to rehab.' It's going to prison where they lose their freedom and have to live in worse conditions than they would on the outside. If prison becomes an 'adult daycare,' then criminals would be less deterred by punishment and more willing to commit crimes as a result.

  • Piracy is an accessibility and quality control problem, not a cost one.

That depends on who you ask, lol.

You're just parroting Gabe Newell as though what he said is gospel.

He's a great man with a lot of good things to say, but this simply isn't true.

If you're paying for something you can get for free while the business selling it to you is making egregious profit, you may be a sucker.

  • That's completely fine if you know why you are using it.

I also love having locally-saved media in case networks go down or streaming sites disappear.

Still, for people coming from Netflix, it doesn't make sense to recommend them self-hosting unless they specifically want to self-host. For most people, they don't see the value of self-hosting and directing them to such solutions just causes them to think it's either self-hosting or paid streaming.

  • I 100% thought this meant he was controlling the trafficking, not just a customer.

Lots of "journalists" have decided it's acceptable to make subtle adjustments to their headlines to fit a narrative.

    clevescene.com

Yeah, doesn't seem to reputable to me. And lying headlines like this means they probably never will be.

  • Don't fall for the plex meme. It's a meme perpetuated by techbros who like to waste their time setting things up when there are other options already there. They do this because they want to feel superior to others by having some esoteric knowledge that actually isn't relevant.

    and install Radarr and Sonarr.

My god. It's sad people like you actually give "advice" like this. It just shows me how disconnected techbros are from normal people. I feel bad for anyone who gets sent down a plex/radarr/sonarr rabbit hole when other options work better.

Just use a free streaming site.

You can stream pretty much anything for free here: https://fmoviesz.to/

Make sure you have uBlock Origin installed.

If you get stuck, try googling “free streaming sites reddit” and go from there.

Use your brain, not your wallet.

  • Whenever businesses try to 'pin' raising prices of an already profitable product on anything, we know the real justification is this:

"We know people are going to pay it and it will make us more money. That's why we do it. We're just saying it's something else for the useful idiots who think businesses are their friends."
