  • Because it is a very risky thing to do. When it works out great but if it fails you are out not only your job but also the money you put into it. workers don't really gain much, they still end up with a ceo making money and decisions.

  • depends on size but larger trailers and a gas engine will do far worse than half. That is why semis are diesel. My diesel truck is 18mpg unloaded but max towing drops down to 12. A ford f150 would get 20-25 unloaded but towing could get around 8.

you are talking about much smaller trailers than what I'm thinking about above so you will do better but I don't know how much.

  • Just get a tent if you must camp. the nice ones are still only 100lbs and will pack in your suv. Throw in a camp stove and cooler and you get most of what you want.

don't forget about hotels. The savings in fuel will buy a mid grade hotel room every night, often with money left over for a meal. RVs only make sense if you are staying in one place for a week for each day of travel.

  • I knew a guy who bought a small truck (30 years ago) and towed well over rated weight, he got where he was going 200 miles down the road and when he parked over some weeds they started on fire from his overheated transmission, truck was totaled - manufecture denighed warranty coverage and is insurance refused to cover it. they were making payments for a while an a truck that was scrapped.

  • Democrats have been gerrymandering since they discovered it was legal. Sure a republican was first way back when, but as soon as they realized it was legal the democrats were doing the same thing. And of course both sides complained about the other doing it when the other was in power as if they were not doing the same. Once in a while someone puts some restriction in place but this is a clear case of both sides are doing it.

  • Rate is just one data point. I'm back again to asking for in depth analysis. Do people who use UHC submit more bogus claims than those who use other insurance for example? There are many more important questions that need to be asked.

  • Do you have detailed numbers or just a feeling?

UHC covers far more people than most national systems despite not being national (I'm sure china is bigger, but most countries have much smaller populations). National systems often have ways of saying "that isn't covered" that mean the claim isn't even attempted. there are many different national systems with different rules. There are lots of other complications here that need to be studied in depth.

  • Your typical adult can make themselves understood by their community better than a three year old which makes them better - not until around seven are kids fully able to communicate (when their adult teeth grow in and they can pronounce all sounds)

of course some english teachers use 'big words' and so are not understood. in that case I'd call a four year old better. (three year olds generally are worse)

  • Language is defined by how it is used. You cannot be better than the natives who are using the language. You can use it correctly according to some book and often that book as written by smart people who are avoiding real issues with the language as it is used. It would in those cases be beneficial to everyone if they would follow that book, but if they don't and you do it makes you wrong and a worse speaker.

In English there is nobody who is authorized to write such a book - many try but they don't agree with each others. Most have little influence on the real world.

In French and Spanish (I do not know about any other languages) there are organizations who are blessed by law with the ability to define the language and they do have legal power to force how people speak. They are sometimes forced to accept a "bad" addition because everyone is using it to the point where they cannot fight it despite the power of law they have behind them.

You cannot say your English is better than many Americans. That makes no sense. Unless you specifically mean English as it is spoken in some other part of the world. There are several different major ways English is spoken in the US, Australia has their own way of speaking (I don't know if this is shared with New Zealand or if they are different), and England has many different ways of speaking the same language. However if you are in some part of the world where a significant number of people speak a language from birth you cannot be better than them at it . India doesn't have many native speakers, but some native speakers are raising their kids English first and so you can probably find a significant population there that is native and has very different ways of speaking.

  • I'm not surprised. They are very hard to make correctly and not that much better than other options that are easier to do. they are a "holy grail" of wood working skill for a reason. I've done a dozen in my life and the best is so awful I want to burn an otherwise nice creation to hide the evidence.
