  • I'm a socialist/communist btw

  • Until you understand what socialism is?

  • What are you even saying? You went off rail really fast I said there are chromium that respect privacy. There are other. And there are good browsers that don't depend on chromium

  • There are chromium browsers that respect privacy. Vanadium for example

  • that's haram!

    Jump
  • This is the holidays season alsoson 1 Monty seems fait to have little activity

  • On top of what has been said on lower security, this is also much worse in terms of privacy. You are giving up your credentials to Google/Mozilla.

Also they do not encrypt (when they do at all)website URLs, only the secret parts (passwords) so this is a downside as well. Anyone getting access (or Google/Mozilla) of the encrypted vault knows what apps/sites you have accounts on. Some password managers do encrypt everything

But yes, primarily it is way easier to steal passwords from a browser, especially when it's synced across many devices including some with lower security (a phone with just a pin, a phone lent to other people, a computer or tablet or phone let open to anyone to change music on Spotify, ...)

  • Yo bozo that's not what I said. But indeed the US kind of acquired Ukraine to their cause in 2014.

I'm not even ML calm down

But please please consider that there is NATO propaganda of you consider there is Russian propaganda in BRICS countries. From there, try to underatand motives and what could be true or not

And yes, Ukrainian government, with the support of the US (why would the US want this war there?) is absolutely killiands hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians with banned weapons. Also consider invadedterritoriese were already trying to get independence from Ukraine and under Russian military presence

  • As said previously, strongly strongly recommend not using browsers to store passwords and paiement cards. Bitwarden and keepass are well known good options, but if you trust Proton you should try their new password manager Proton Pass which has a free tier (not affiliated to them) For the moment I still have an active license on 1password so haven't switched over yet

  • The US had to test all their old weapons before to kill as much Ukrainian civilians as possible. But it'll still be the same if they have time to complete this other madness before they have to give up trying to take over the territories

  • I did a bit of research for my personal use and what came out as the best options in 2023 are indeed SimpleX and Briar. What do you think of the latter?

  • You don't HAVE to, this won't probably have an impact in the long run. I myself recalibrates maybe once per month. But it is easier to handle your battery level precisely when the measures you get are themselves precise. And it is more conveniant to not be caught offguard with less battery than anticipated. But yeah not mandatory to do it too often, just regularly

  • I don't think you have to be scared about this, it's rare. Just don't let it deplete itself too often (>20% for daily use and a full discharge/charge once every two weeks to recalibrate) and don't expose it to low and high temperatures
