  • A friend recommended Medieval Dynasty. It has a few bugs, but overall I’ve been addicted like I haven’t been for a long time. “Have been” addicted because after 60 hours the initial rush does get dimmer, but I still like playing the game.

    You live in a medieval world, where you settle down and build your own village, chopping wood, hunting, gathering, farming and mining. You can also convince hobos to settle in your village and help you with chores.

    The story has you finding out what happened to your uncle after he left. You find out he has led an astonishing life via lots of funny conversations with his former friends. The game has quest dialogue you actually want to read. Cudos to that alone.

  • Only if you never, ever have to deal with shitty websites from countries that pretend the rest of the world doesn’t exist. Looking at you, FUCKING DELL HOW CAN YOU FUCK THIS UP YOU ARE A MULTI-BILLION INTERNATIONAL CORPORATION

  • What’s the problem with excessive citations? Citing only a single publication to prove a fact is shaky scientifically. Multiple citations are more robust in case of a dead link or if a book goes out of print or a particular version of it has the reference and others don’t.

    If you’re bothered by seeing excessive citations, then the solution is to hide them, e.g. [12] (+12), and expand them on demand.

  • The website developer can configure which camera to use. Instead of

    <input type="file" accept="image/*" capture="user" />

    it is

    <input type="file" accept="image/*" capture="environment" />

    This doesn’t help you, but it’s cool for a web dev.

  • Recently I saw a meme or post or tweet that I can’t find anymore. The gist was: In the 2000s, search engines were arcane tools which could only be used competently by few select people. Nowadays this has changed. Not because people have gotten smarter, but because search engines were dumbed down so much that it’s not possible to use them competently anymore.

  • Now that you ask…

    Instead of giving people free food and housing in prisons, I imagine mandatory work sentences for minor offences. Littering? 1 year of mandatory work. Why it’s black people disproportionately getting work time? I don’t know… must be in their genes or something.
