  • I like to think that anything that CAN be art, if it can be meaningful for someone.

A pebble might be ignored by most people, but a geologist might be fascinated by it, I think that becomes art.

Even in something worked-on at the very least the artist is the observer, and they will put into it the meaning they perceive in it, and if they never share with anyone it's still art.

    My opinion.

  • While I think it's extremely overhyped, looking at some "AI" art communities it's clear that at least some put a lot of effort on it, going over many many iterations and tweaking the program and the results.

And anyway art is "made" by the observer, not the artist, even the results of natural processes can be art.

(AI in quotes because these tools don't deserve the name, at best High Coherence Media Transformers)

  • No because there's always the possibility to use one of the extra Soyuz from the station.

  • Aren't they your country problems? Should they try solving themselves?

  • While it was not such a good movie, TLJ was an ok-ish Star Wars movie, and by far the best of the sequels.

  • Frutiger Aero from Windows Vista and 7 was the peak of UI design.

  • When was the last time he listened to anyone besides the voices in his head?

  • We might still, if I'm not mistaken there are (or were) at least two countries considering joining. A big one would be Chile, and negotiations have been going for a long time now.

  • Here voting is always on a Sunday, and for those that work Sundays, the employer has to arrange so that they have time to go vote.

  • The USian system is so bizarre.

Here in Brazil everybody HAS to register when turning 18. The registration can get suspended if you miss an election without justification, but you get a fine for each time.

Voting is not a right, it's a duty.

  • Not that I'm aware of. Maybe some extreme anti-American-Imperialism parties, but since Bolsonaro I don't look much at political news for sake of mental health.

Lula is first and foremost a Mercosul proponent, and Chaves' and Maduro's crap got Venezuela kicked out.

  • I live in Brazil, in the Venezuelan election Sunday there were widespread manifestations from Venezuelan refugees and migrants in many cities here. In front of my city's Town Hall there was a large group chanting "Fuera Maduro".

  • What does toque have to do with sprinting from a standstill? Torque of more like, capacity to put out mechanical energy. I read this as "your arms look capable of lifting heavy weights".

  • Lemmy makes it a bit easier to make competing communities. If enough people get angry at bad mods in a community they will migrate.

This already happened in Reddit, but competing communities had different names, and Lemmy also allows to escape bad admins and sites/instances.

  • I'm glad my car runs on ethanol, gasoline is already 50% more expensive than ethanol here (in South Brazil).

  • Technically it's a computer because it can compute something, it's just not a universal computer.
