  • Total solar eclipses in any given area only happen about once in 300 years I think? (I'm too lazy to go look up the exact math). So unless you are willing to travel the 150 year number isn't that wrong.

  • I mostly disagree. It takes away a feeling of agency even if its still random at the end of the day. Just trust your players not to meta game. There are exceptions when it would be hard for the player to still get the intended experience when not meta gaming; but leaving the existence of that experience up to a roll in the first place is probably whats at fault.

  • Best guess atm is they lost power when approaching the bridge, they, at least periodically got it back, but given that they had lost power they were taking measures to stop themselves. They put their engine in reverse and dropped their anchor. Both of these cause the ship to go off course as they slowed it down pulling it out of the center lane it was in. Basically the crew panicked when trying to do the right thing and did everything wrong.

  • Going to read the article now, but before doing so I'm wondering if they controlled for the fact that safer seats are more likely to be in a position to take stronger positions on it, or might be forced to take stronger positions on it because the primary threat is during the primary.

  • Depends on what you mean by unknown. The meme (and a lot of common understanding) doesn't know what it means to be observed. There is a leading theory, the Copenhagen interpretation. The biggest theory in opposition would be multi-world.
