  • Haha, I mean, we're definitely arguing over semantics but you're saying something equivalent to, "No, don't eat ice cream. Put some in your mouth and then swallow it, but don't eat. We never eat."

  • Its terrifying that rather than having to admit that they were wrong, people will usually double down on their positions.

  • In order for them to understand who the "right" people are, they'd need to be able to see the bigger picture. If they could see the bigger picture, they'd realize that they have better options than murder.

  • The problem is that most people who have casual conversations about quantum physics are just jerking each other off. They're trying to impress each other by being able to describe ideas that other people came up with.

    It's kind of like when a parent thinks that their kid is a genius for being able to use an ipad. The talented people were the UI designers of the iPad, not the kid.

    The time machine guy is at least trying to be funny.

  • I'm sure this will draw some criticism but I've found duck.ai to be extremely helpful in troubleshooting minor issues with my Linux mint installation and recently with accessing and understanding SMART hard drive diagnostic data. It's very helpful in figuring out which commands could be useful in the terminal and in understanding exactly what each terminal command is doing. Of course finding answers in forums and manuals is still relevant and important but as a beginner, this has been a fast and easy way to get advice.
